I just got latest version on regular channel, so it seems that now it is released on that channel also.
Thank you for letting us know, updated just now.

Appeared in Edge after an update. Not bad.

But did it work differently before?

It seems like it enables HTTPS scanning for many more websites with that enabled in the extension. The certificate shows up more and more for me on many websites.Yes, I saw that too, and was wondering the same thing when mine updated last night. I guess it's a new and improved feature than what we were previously being protected by? Mine doesn't look like the one in the image, though?

edit: I'm starting to use dark mode more, like the Dark Reader app (eyes getting more sensitive to bright white screens) so dark mode for the extension looks pretty good. Nice color balance, IMO.

Bitdefender exists...Well, it's the last independent European antivirus that doesn't burden the system, doesn't have bloated functionality, has never been involved in personal data scandals, and offers settings for advanced users... I still don't see any real alternative to it, even if some of the less useful features are being moved to the Ultimate version. For me, if a ransomware manages to launch on the system, that's a reason to roll back from a backup, since I can't know what other payloads might have been deployed or how stable the system will be in the future, even if the antivirus manages to revert the changes. But I agree that Eset might lose some users due to this kind of policy. It really is worth going to their forum and sharing this feedback.
The illustration shows the full version of the add-on available in Ultimate, which has the most features. For example, deleting metadata from uploaded images.Yes, I saw that too, and was wondering the same thing when mine updated last night. It's really heavy on my computer with the glitch of endless full system scan. Also no option for settings backup & restore. It's really BugDefender not Bitdefender.Bitdefender exists...
PSA for those who updated: Enhanced Data Protection is causing all sorts of issues: https://forum.eset.com/topic/45855-version-182140/#findComment-200682
In my case not only did I get the Firefox profile folder locked and unable to run my automated backup/sync jobs, but it also affected my Brave profile folder and it messed up all PWAs which lost their icons (the icons were blank when viewing in File Explorer). I don't really know what else got affected by it, but I'm certain there was more.
Meanwhile, Portable Firefox has stopped working completely with this feature as it locks all write operations even from the Firefox executable itself.
Disabling Enhanced Data Protection fixed it immediately.
I've been saying that enforcing Secure All Browsers was a bad move since day one when this feature debuted a couple of years ago. To this day I still randomly get scrambled keyboard input in browsers and even on Windows. Now they've intentionally decided to lock browser profile folders without warning (yes, this new issue is a feature, not a bug).
In all honesty, I'm really tired of ESET breaking stuff on new versions. Right now I run a combination of ESET and Kaspersky on my devices. Take a guess which ones I have to troubleshoot every now and then and who is the culprit.
Hmm, so far I am not noticing any strange with that setting on. Vivaldi runs perfectly well so far, and hasleo made the daily backup just fine. (And I have the latest version of ESET SSP.)
Maybe it depends on the browser and backup program people use?
Vivaldi does not get the protection that can cause these issues with ESET. You still get HTTPS scanning in Vivaldi. Only Brave, Chrome, Edge, and Firefox get the full browser protection where profiles are locked by ESET. I use Vivaldi as well (love it)!Hmm, so far I am not noticing any strange with that setting on. Vivaldi runs perfectly well so far, and hasleo made the daily backup just fine. So ESSP will get a "new" feature, but this feature isn't ransomware remediation. That is still being discussed by the execs... Going to complain on the forums may get this changed.Interesting statement: https://forum.eset.com/topic/45807-ransomware-remediation/page/3/#comments![]()
93% seems pretty good for blocking phishing sites, but this test URL did not show other test results, and I did not hunt for them this morning.
