Hello,

I am using ESET Smart Security 9.0.377.0 on Windows 10 x64 Home.

I am having extreme lag in flash games using both Google Chrome and Edge.

How do I rectify this?

Great advice.

This "fix" doesn't even work anymore, because it disabled the sandboxed PPAPI plugin and used the insecure NPAPI version instead, which has been deprecated for ages. On top of that, this has been horrible advice even at the time when it was still working, since it disabled fundamental security features for such a heavily exploited plugin.

It's not Chrome's fault at all. ESS is causing the lag in flash games. I also don't want to install flash independently when there's already a built-in flash in Chrome.

And the lag happens on Edge as well. Hence, the culprit is ESET.

It was a 5 second Google Search. No harm done.

@Sher A few solutions I've read mention trying to disable protocol filtering, or https scanning.

Hello try to disable Eset firewall and uses Windows firewall to see if it is the fault of the firewall in Eset.
