So far I’m very surprised. Gaming wise my machine performs within margin of error of Microsoft Defender, and in some cases a repeatable bit better.

Definitely. It seems that it checks the two boxes of: 1)Being as performant or more than Defender, and 2) Having similar or better protection. Otherwise why ever pay?

So even finnish police cant get vpn logs of finnish antivirus/ vpn user in such case

Not related to SAFE, but for sure F-Secure and their VPN service. I just dumped the link in Google translate and read it in Swedish.

Thought it was something brand new that happened again concerning their VPN, but nope it's an old case from 2019 that now seems to got it's final ruling. Apparently the Finnish cops wanted more then was allowed according to the Finnish laws, and did not care and collected all the requested data anyway ( data that was wanted by the German police ), but that hit them back hard when the case ended up in court. Honestly, the idea of anonymity once data is collected is more of a pipe dream than a reality. A VPN is going to know your IP when you connect to it. Just like services (including F-Secure Cloud and other cloud AV / sandbox solutions) which collect filenames / file samples from your computer and then “promises” to anonymize it or not pay attention to sensitive details.

Companies can try to fight attempts to intercept/deanonymize this information, but the only foolproof way is to not collect it at all in the first place. Otherwise, especially if your vendor’s government thinks that someone is breaking their law, it’s pretty hard to fight handing over information you have.
