  • Internal quality and build infrastructure improvements

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed: A rare occurrence of VPN incorrectly reporting connection to a node when not actually connected
  • Miscellaneous UI changes: text alignment and cut-offs, missing margins, visual glitches, loading spinners.

Thanks.
Are you still using it?

Apologies, I didn't see this until I saw a member was viewing this thread. Yep, using it on all my devices, 2 laptops and 1 little used tower PC. I just renewed my subscription for Internet Security 2 days ago. So it looks like you all are stuck with me 😂, in continuing to keep this F-Secure forum updated for a while longer :)

edit: and the next release should be to v26.8, as there wasn't enough changed to warrant a v26.7 beta and release. At least that was my understanding.

I'm thinking of going back to a FSecure/Cyberlock combo.

IMO, that would be an excellent combo :)

I did uninstall it from my Surface 5 laptop, as it did slow the loading of some of the apps at times. On 2 -3 different AI conversations, it did mention that with a Surface 5, that is an issue with its "architecture" and how F-Secure scans files on access? On my HP Envy laptop, no problems at all. F-Secure is one of the most stable, with just the right amount of settings, unobtrusive, quiet AV's I've used, IMO, and won't nag you with prompts. The I.S. UI does shows features (ghost panels) of Total that aren't installed, but that's it.

Trial the Internet Security, it's all you need. If you do decide to try it, it will prompt on install to set up the browser extensions, let it.

In the Device Protection settings I disable the Firewall sensor, and in Scam Protection - Shopping Protection I disable Show notifications for safe shopping sites. If you want to keep it enabled to see what it looks like, go to Amazon and you'll see the notification.

In Settings - Notifications I disable it, even though I've never gotten a notification on the UI with it enabled (maybe an email update like yesterdays I received from them).

If you leave the top card, banner open, it will show you information on Files checked, files scanned in real time, Web addresses checked from the main UI and in each category, Device Protection and Scam Protection. Otherwise, it can be collapsed by the up down arrows at the top right, to give a cleaner look to the UI.

If you needed to manually install a browser extension, go to Scam Protection from the UI - Browser Extensions and it will give you the direct link. For Brave, I use the Chrome option and copy and paste that into the Brave search bar as it will give you full protection, you just won't get the ratings icons in a Brave search, but will for a Google search.

There isn't a Dark Mode setting, as it follows Windows dark/light mode themes.

Don't think you now have to commit to trying it @Digmor Crusher as far as what I posted, as it could be helpful for others? :)

Yes it's changed a lot. First, the new GUI and the transition to Avira SDK.

Which I've had to correct Gemini and Google AI (Chrome search bar) 4-5 times who keep reciting DeepGuard, and I have to remind them of it's Behavior detection by Avira's SDK for Windows users. They get confused with the Mac version, it's still called DeepGuard (image below), as F-Secure may be maintaining a "version of", hybrid of it for Mac's. Then AI does apologize and confirm my correcting them 😅
