Try running the Speedometer 3.1 test with the VPN turned on and off:

Speedometer 3.1

[Berny]

My real geographical location = Belgium (West Flanders) - Europe

[Marko :)]

I've activated it and signed in with my Google account, but I can't seem to browse, perhaps because I don't live in one of the specified countries:

P.S. After the test, remember to log out of both the VPN and any synchronization services.

Doesn't work for me either.

[Berny]

I noticed that FF 149 VPN is not installing a virtual VPN driver.

[harlan4096]

No, because it's actually a proxy in the USA only for the browser.

There is also:

Get Mozilla VPN — Mozilla (US)

Use Mozilla VPN for full-device protection for all apps. With servers in 57+ countries, you can connect to anywhere, from anywhere.

[Berny]

Thank you , this means no SMTP problem

[Miraculix]

Has anyone on the forum tested the VPN's browsing speed (using a server in the United States)?
The VPN can be removed from the toolbar.

If the VPN isn't available by default in your Firefox, you can enable it manually by:

about:config

browser.ipProtection.enabled set to true

In Germany: download 512 Mbps, upload 241 Mbps

And your original speed without VPN is...?

[Miraculix]

And your original speed without VPN is...?

[vonvon]

original speed without VPN 730/450
speed with VPN enabled 650/360

In France near Versailles.

For information : AdguardVPN 300/270
EsetVPN 280/190
(both connected in Paris)

New measurement:
868/414 without VPN
492/236 with VPN

Would it be possible to run a Speedometer 3.1 test with or without a VPN?
Thank you.

Man... you're so obsessed with Speedometer thingy—a test that doesn't show you as a user anything important. I already said that the tool is made by browser devs in order to show the areas where they can improve; nothing else.

Beside, internet connection speed doesn't have anything to do with the score you get on it. You can take the test on 100 Mb/s and 1 Gb/s, and it will show exact same result as it doesn't measure your speed rather than hardware of your PC and standards web browser supports.

I mean, I get a normal (lower) score on Firefox than on Brave, but Firefox loads websites faster for me. If this doesn't tell you how important the test is, then I don't know what will show you.

I've already told you this too it only happens in your Firefox.
It's not an obsession, it's just curiosity.

I can't be the only one out of all Firefox users to have better performance than on Chromium. I say the test is flawed.

You are an expert; you can make tweaks deep in FF advanced settings boosting its performance.

I could... but I won't. I changed only minor things like disabled translation, enabled the compact mode and such. I believe changing things I'm not sure of could lead to negative consequences.

I lack experience, so I stopped playing with Chrome flags; even the one for dark webpage.
