Looking forward to ask to connect

I had the same concerns, but after a whole day of working on a PC there are no new applications that I need to access the Internet, so the Ask to Connect feature is just something nice to have and not something critical in my opinion.

I'm looking forward to this feature mainly for installers.

Now:
- launch some installer/updater
- it auto-added to Programs
- allow/block it in the Programs
- proceed to app's completion
- delete it from Programs

With Ask to Connect:
- launch some installer/updater
- temporarily allow/block it in the popup window with "Apply same rules to child processes"
- proceed to app's completion
- Programs window is not affected

I use Ask option all the time in other Firewall (not Fort) and then adjust the created app FW rule to my liking afterwards. But most of the times I don't need to adjust the created app FW rule as the FW rule options in the Ask popup are sufficient.

If Fort has this Ask feature with FW rule options I would start using it.

Default deny is a good idea for untrusted programs you don't want to connect to the Internet. If they're trusted, they can automatically be granted permission to connect.

I can only promise that I’m working on the “Ask to connect” on spare time. No timeline.
