Hiren’s BootCD PE (Preinstallation Environment) is a restored edition of Hiren’s BootCD based on Windows 11 PE x64. Given the absence of official updates after November 2012, the PE version is currently under development by the fans of Hiren’s BootCD. It includes a carefully chosen set of the best free tools, designed for modern computers that support UEFI booting and need at least 4 GB of RAM.

Thank you for sharing this information. It's great to see that fans are continuing to develop Hiren’s BootCD PE. These tools are indeed very useful for modern computers. The links provided are also helpful for those who want to download and learn more about it.

I had to use it multiple times, particularly to create Windows bootable media, without having a second Windows machine.

It’s extremely difficult to create a Windows install media from other OS-es (like mac, specially with the M chips), due to the fact that Windows boot CD only supports Fat32 and NTFS. Windows 11 has the install.wim file that is >5 GB and cannot be written under FAT32. Mac and other OS-es are not really NTFS friendly unless substantial amount of time is invested in workarounds. The M chips increase the amount of effort required.

So the solution was to unpack the Hiren PE on a FAT32 formatted drive (there are no massive files there), boot, then use Rufus under Hiren to make another drive bootable.
