Unzip One
An easy and fast way to open archived files
Unzip One is the best free Compress, Encrypt, Package utility for your Computer. Open any archive, including RAR, Zip, 7z, gzip, bzip2, and more in just seconds.

Does anyone on the forum have samples to test the safe extraction feature? I'm curious to see how it works.

Mb @Shadowra @Trident ?
WHHLight can do such a job.

It's not available for download in Australia. But I was able to download the installer, by copying and pasting the Microsoft Store URL in following site.

Trend Micro Unzip One quick test and review.

Intro: Trend Micro offers several “utilities” for mac that serve more as a platform for displaying ads than tools created to serve users.
Trend Micro Uzip One is no different.

The unarchiver displays ads periodically, as well as after every action performed.

Trend Micro also offers “Secure Extraction” that’s meant to detect malware.
1. It did not detect anything else apart from Eicar, the animation is THE SAME every time, leading me to believe it is just a placeholder animation with no action performed in reality. Unzip One also doesn’t include any engines or patterns that can facilitate scanning.
2. When it detected Eicar, it advised the download and purchase of Trend Micro product with real time protection.

Not recommended.

Although I didn't use it to extract any files, there is one limitation I noticed. When I right clicked on an exe file in Windows File Explorer that had some content that could be extracted, there was no option to extract any files. Whereas other archivers usually give me the option to extract files.

As expected; just a promotional software, with no real special features.

But at least it's free.
For windows there is very little reason to use anything else but 7Zip, in fact, the Trend Micro antivirus unpacker is 7Zip.

For mac, there is The Unarchiver.

No need to use ads galore.

That’s why my anti-malware scans are fast, cuz my software is usually chosen to be as minimalistic as possible.

Their homepage is blocked by NextDNS!
I don't think there's anything malicious there, but their apps are sometimes classified as adware, as they can contain ads. They dropped English language support in their archiver years ago, but I'm using a more recent modified version that has English language added to it.
