One thing that Anthropic said is that infostealers are the cheapest form of attack for Windows based attackers - the code to steal session cookies would stay the same. They land on your system, steal the cookies, passwords etc and the job is done.
For people who migrated to Linux from Windows with hackers following them, this threat remains the same. The attackers May not have Linux tooling, but this attack can still be re-used to keep tabs on you.
Some people feel that they are now safe once they migrated to Linux, but this is a false sense of security, Hackers have a few Linux distro's to choose from, and Kali is the most famous one. And Kali has both Windows and Linux attack tools. For many hackers, Kali is their first introduction to attack tools, and is moderately easy to learn. Besides, there are tutorials on the web to follow along
Some people pooh pooh the idea that they may be targeted. And some people mistakenly think that All hackers are cybercriminals in search of money. The fact is, hackers have various motivations. And hackers are just plain nosy, and just want to see what other people are doing. So the junior pre-cybercriminal ones just hack for practice and fun. Let me tell you this: good hackers make it a point not to be discovered, erase logs and cover up. A minority of hackers like to mess with their targets, make things fail and not work and enjoy a good laugh watching you trying to fix things. But the good ones don't do that and stay hidden. The tell tale signs of being hacked is modified / disabled security settings. If you find that certain settings seems to be modified, be wary. Hackers, careful or not, tend to disable security settings for their own ease of re-entry. Best thing to do is harden your system. Take pre-cautionary measures. An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. Take charge of your privacy.
