Check

1) Power supply voltages
2) CPU Heating up or not
3) Conducting paste on Processor
4) Cables and Wiring (Data Cables, Power Cables etc)
5) Cell on Motherboard
6) Jumpers on Motherboard and Media Drives (Optical and Storage for Master, Slave Configuration)
7) In case of more than one RAMs, match their Bus speed in MHz. i.e. all RAMs must have same Bus speed.
8) RAM compatibility with Mother Board.

Clean

1) All Fans including Processor fan
2) Processor Heat Sink
3) RAM, External Cards (VGA, LAN, modem etc with rubber)
4) All Slots (DIMM, Processor, PCI and PCI-E etc)
5) Power Supply Unit
6) Motherboard
7) Any External Card (Graphic, LAN or Modem etc) installed on PCI or PCI-E slots.

Scan and Repair

1) Bad Sectors, System Files on HDD (by chkdsk or third party softwares)
2) For viruses on HDD

Reseat

1) Processor
2) RAM
3) Cell on Motherboard
4) Any External Card (Graphic, LAN or Modem etc) installed on PCI or PCI-e slots.

Reset

1) BIOS
2) Jumper Setting on Motherboard

Shuffle

1) RAM in slots
2) Media Drives (Optical and Storage)
3) Any External Card (Graphic, LAN or Modem etc) installed on PCI or PCI-e slots.

Check the Sounds/Beeps

1) Check beep and its count with and without RAM.
2) Sound from the fans mounted on processor, VGA, Power Supply and CPU etc.

Easier said than done, with non-PC desktop hardware.
