Solved Help with Arabyonline malware

Hello, thank god I finally found a place where I've witnessed people ACTUALLY being able to remove this thing from their machines. I have tried everything I could find in google, or youtube or anything.

Some months ago I started getting weird ads. Then all of a sudden the huge bomb, Arabyonline. It messed my laptop up bad. I ran different antivirus and antimalware software such as Kaspersky, Avast, Malwarebyte's antimalware...they have found lots and cleaned lots of unwanted files from my laptop but not this Arabyonline thing.

While I was digging deeper into google I found these forums and did some searching and saw that some people actually solved this issue. I was hoping I could get some help. I would appreciate it really as this has been frying my brains.

Before we start please read and note the following:

• Instructions I give to you are very simple and made for complete beginner to follow. That's why you need to read through my instructions carefully and completely before executing them.
• Please do not run any tools other than the ones I ask you to, when I ask you to. Some of these tools can be very dangerous if used improperly. Also, if you use a tool that I have not requested you use, it can cause false positives, thereby delaying the complete cleaning of your machine.
  
• All tools we use here are completely clean and do not contain any malware. If your antivirus detects them as malicious, please disable your antivirus and then continue.
• If during the process you run across anything that is not in my instructions, please stop and ask. If any tool is running too much time (few hours), please stop and inform me.
• I visit forum several times at day, making sure to respond to everyone's topic as fast as possible. But bear in mind that I have private life like everyone and I cannot be here 24/7. So please be patient with me. Also, some infections require less, and some more time to be removed completely, so bear this in mind and be patient.
• Please stay with me until the end of all steps and procedures and I declare your system clean. Just because there is a lack of symptoms does not indicate a clean machine. If you solved your problem yourself, set aside two minutes to let me know.
  
• Please attach all report using
  
  button below. Doing this, you make it easier for me to analyze and fix your problem.
  
• Do not ask for help for your business PC. Companies are making revenue via computers, so it is good thing to pay someone to repair it.
• If I don't hear from you within 3 days from this initial or any subsequent post, then this thread will be closed.

Scan with ZOEK

Please download ZOEK by Smeenk and save it to your desktop (preferred version is the *.exe one)
Temporary disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware protection - instructions here.

• Right-click on
  
  icon and select
  
  Run as Administrator to start the tool.
• Wait patiently until the main console will appear, it may take a minute or two.
• In the main box please paste in the following script:
  

  createsrpoint;
  autoclean;
  emptyalltemp;
  ipconfig /flushdns;b

• Make sure that Scan All Users option is checked.
• Push Run Script and wait patiently. The scan may take a couple of minutes.
• When the scan completes, a zoek-results logfile should open in notepad.
• If a reboot is needed, it will be opened after it. You may also find it at your main drive (usually C:\ drive)

Post its content into your next reply.

Scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.

• Install the progam and select update.
• Once updated, click the Settings tab, in the left panel choose Detctions & protection and tick Scan for rootkits.
• Click the Scan tab, choose Threat Scan is checked and click Scan Now.
• If threats are detected, click the Apply Actions button. You will now be prompted to reboot. Click Yes.
• Upon completion of the scan (or after the reboot), click the History tab.
• Click Application Logs and double-click the Scan Log.
• At the bottom click Export and choose Text file.

Save the file to your desktop and include its content in your next reply.

Fix with AdwCleaner

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save the file to your desktop.

• Right-click on
  
  icon and select
  
  Run as Administrator to start the tool.
• Follow the prompts and click Scan.
• When finished, please click Clean.
• Upon completion, click Report. A log (AdwCleaner[S*].txt) will open.

Please include the contents of that file in your reply.

Scan with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

Please re-run Farbar Recovery Scan Tool to give me a fresh look at your system.

• Right-click on
  
  icon and select
  
  Run as Administrator to start the tool.
  (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
• Make sure that Addition option is checked.
• Press Scan button and wait.
• The tool will produce two logfiles on your desktop: FRST.txt and Addition.txt.

Hello again, scans done and files are uploaded.

However, I do have some notes. My startup menu got kinda bombed. Almost everything has gone missing.

Also, when you asked me to install MBAM, I already had it installed and it was running fine until I entered your magic script, I started getting the MBAM is not responding message before the the program's icon could even show up. I had to re-install it in order for it to work.

Also, paint and many other windows programs disappeared.

All of that happened after using the script. I hope it's part of the plan thanks anyway man! Hope we can get through this and get rid of the malware!

Haha. Alright it's done and everything is back. Chrome seems to be free of the Arabyonline malware. I think you got rid of it! What do you think? What is the next step? Thanks a lot man!

Also if its worth noting: my windows user account picture also disappeared, it was blank even after the restore. I changed the picture and it came back.

Post-cleanup procedures:​

Download DelFix by Xplode and save it to your desktop.

• Run the tool by right click on the
  
  icon and Run as administrator option.
• Make sure that these ones are checked:
  • Remove disinfection tools
  • Purge system restore
  • Reset system settings
• Push Run and wait until the tool completes his work.
• All tools we used should be gone. Tool will create an report for you (C:\DelFix.txt)

The tool will also record healthy state of registry and make a backup using ERUNT program in %windir%\ERUNT\DelFix
Tool deletes old system restore points and create a fresh system restore point after cleaning.

I do have a note though, I'm usually and have always been careful when it came to my machines...I'm careful around ads and what and where I download from...I don't really remember doing something that in reaction triggered the malware. I have no idea what it came from is all that's eating my brains.

I had just woke up my laptop from sleep and opened chrome and arabyonline came back

Man, bad news

I let the scan run while I was doing my work, and it finished but asked me to restart so I thought I'd finish my work first then click ok to restart, so I resumed working and suddenly screen goes black. I tried to turn it on again, nothing, black screen.

Now I'm home and I started it up, it runs, boots windows, and just when the OS loading is done, mouse appears and boom, BSOD

I could however, boot into safe mode just fine.(I think)

We can try to access System Restore:

• Restart your computer and tap F8 to bring up the Advanced Menu, then click Repair your computer
• Follow the prompt to enter keyboard input method, and then the prompt to enter a password. If the machine does not have a password, simply click Enter.
• In the Choose Recovery Tool menu select System Restore

Choose Zoek.exe restore point.

Man is it possible that I use system restore from safe mode? Cuz im in safe mode and I can recover system to install: zoek.exe 12/1/2014 11:31:51 AM which was today morning when it all happened.

But I wont do it, I'll wait for your reply. Its just that I dont currently have a flash drive.

Hey man. System restore worked. Its restored but bsod'd again but while I was in thr desktop when I tried renaming zoek (1) to zoek.

I can boot fine into windows but it will crash sooner or later

Edit 2: rebooted now. Everything seems fine. Do I rerun your zoek script?

Edit 3: Laptop is running, I don't know how stable though. Arabyonline seems to be gone too. Next?
