It's just a badge and not like you get special privileges with it.

I think it’s more about the contributions, not the date of registration. Obviously, to an extent, these two go together.

Depends on the forum I guess. I don't know how MT gives that title, on Malwarebytes forum it only requires a very old account and no other criteria.
