Hallo I am new hier to the Forum and also beginner to the "Cyber Security"

.How do AV react to password protected Files?

.and is Password Protected files encrypted and how can we test them

.Sometimes a trial Programm is Password Protected files what can we do to test them.

In the case of Bitdefender, when you try to scan a password-protected archive, it will ask you to enter the password and then it will scan it. Eset, as far as I remember, does skip password-protected archives (correct me if I am wrong). Anyway, password-protected archives are not a security risk, and when you decompress them, they will be scanned automatically by your security solution either on access or on execution depending on your settings.

Most AVs ignore password protected files but a good AV should detect infected files right after extraction.
