The only way to fight or confirm impressions or hearsay is by factual data. Therefore I am asking forum members using a Chromium based browser (.e.g Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, Woolyss Chromium, Ungoogled, etc) to post when they receive an update which contains the security updates of Google's Chrome's latest.

To kick off with latest thread from MalwareTips Bot

May 20, 2020 Google Chrome 83.0.4103.61 has been released

When you use a different Chromium based browser please post when you received this update also

P.S.
For data gathering one confirmation per browser would be sufficient. When the mods also think this information ads value to the Browsers & Extension forum section, please make it a sticky. When this thread becomes a sticky (and members keep this a clean thread, with limited off topic posts) I promise to collect the data and publish it in a spreadsheets to monitor the update delay of different Chromium variants.

B.T.W. I replaced Opera with Ungoogled Chromium. It is a bit of a hassle to download and unpack extensions manually, but I only use three (Auto History Wipe, uBlockOrigin and Emsisoft Browser Security).
If you use the Eloston version of Ungoogled Chromium from Github there's no need to unpack extensions. See my steps in post #62 below

You can try my method on your woolyss version and see whether it works

Use this NeverDecaf/chromium-web-store and it will enable you to get Web Store extensions directly and update for you too.

Brave is currently at Version 1.9.80 Chromium: 81.0.4044.138 (Official Build) (64-bit)

However, direct loading of extensions from Google Web Store means extensions will need to communicate with Google which defeats the purpose of Ungoogling.

That's also why Brave and UR browsers, although are high privacy browsers, but still not ungoogled because they allow the direct loading of extensions from Google Web Store

Eloston version does NOT permit this

I am intending to maintain this list for the next two 6 weeks releases of Chrome. I added the Chrome release date of the version Brave, Opera and Yandex are currently using to get an idea of the back log (five and halve weeks, that is nearly a full release cycle of chrome behind).

This is why I love Chrome; it's first to get updates. And, also, one of the reasons why I stopped using Opera. I would tolerate up to 3 days update delay at max.

@Marko :) In all fairness to Brave, they have yet to catch up to Chromium release schedule as planned earlier due to Covid-19. Once they hit v.83 the catchup should be fast. v. 83 should have happened this week. And one can always use Brave Dev or Nightly.

And of course, Google has the $$$ and manpower. :devilish: ;)
I know that. That's why Brave is my second choice and I'm making a switch if Google messes something up regarding Chrome (like if they really implement Manifest V3 and limit ad blockers). 😉👍

When Google implements manifest 3, others could fork Chrome and decide to work together Yandex, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi and Opera.

The ungoogled chromium could be an easier base to add your own user interface brand (Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, Yandex) and additional services.

After all Edge and Yandex have in common that they have their own search engine, Brave and Vivaldi have their replacement advertisement system and all have their own anti advertisement or tracking blocker.

Would not be a bad idea when you think about it.
