I use uBO's default filters on Firefox browsers and uBOL's "Complete" mode on Chromium browsers, "except Brave, which I don't use ad blocker with." My requirements are straightforward: I don't want to see advertisements without compromising performance and speed.

I simply use the Tor browser when I want to do something shady.

µBO - Medium mode with no other custom rules.

µBOL - 8 DNR rules. AG URL Tracking, µB Badware filters and Malicious URL lists only.

Stay safe, not paranoid!

Question:

Why did you add 8 DNR rules to your uBoL?

Ah... I forgot... Kees1958's filter list only takes up 1 rule because uBoL has a DNR rule compression feature, otherwise you would have the total number of rules in Kees1958's filter list.
Over 100 personal rules added.;)

Installed uBol to count (normally using Brave Shields) and in uBol I have zero filter lists enabled, over 40 cosmetic custom rules and over 30 DNR custom rules.

I use uBOL to easily create cosmetic custom rules, for host file like block rules and simple static ABP rules I use AdGuard's logger. uBol translate static ABP rules into DNR rules, that is why I use uBol to test whether my custom rules work.

I use the AdGuard extension (MV2 on Edge) and all its recommended filters as well as one or two additional filters.
In terms of personal rules, I have my own annoyance filter. It has some rules to hide things that I myself find annoying but not covered by AdGuard/EasyList annoyances.
I don't recommend anyone to use my filter, since 99% of the things it blocks/hides don't bother anyone but me.
There's one thing in here that some users may find useful which is the rules to see more video thumbnails on the YouTube homepage. Mine is set to 4 but you may increase it to any value you want. Scroll down to the bottom to see the YouTube filter rules:

AdGuard on Edge is like that friend who always carries extra tools: it blocks YouTube without blinking, though sometimes you can feel the heavier backpack. uBO is the quick, silent ninja, but it needs a few extra tricks to handle YouTube. Ghostery, meanwhile, is the privacy guard: it watches closely, but doesn’t always kick the ads out of the party. If WARP keeps everything running smoothly, I’d say your combo is pretty well tuned. ⚔️🎒🛡️

Does the AG extension slow down browsing on edge compared to ghostery or ublock origin? Ublock origin & ghostery both are unable to block ads in YouTube on edge, at least on my PC. (I use Cloudflare WARP by the way)
Besides using more memory (for most PC users a non issue) AdGuard does well. It even outperforms uBo in my Brave setup with Speedometer 3.1 test. It really does well in dealing with youtube ads as @Halp2001 already posted.
