Free version links are only on the forum these days. Direct download link for the Premium (Free) version: https://download.comodo.com/cis/download/installs/9090/standalone/cispremium_installer.exe the paid version only really includes a Virus-Free guarantee covering up to $500 and Personal Internet & Identity Coverage. All the features of the product are the same despite what information is on the website. There is literally no protection difference between the Premium and the Pro. Historically the paid version would include VPN and 24/7 GeekBuddy support but that was some years ago.
Comodo is the equivalent of a guy who built a nuclear-proof fallout shelter in his basement in 2004, locked the door, and refuses to come out even though the house has indoor plumbing now. It is genuinely mind-boggling that in an era where refrigerators have machine learning and AI models can write entire codebases, opening up Comodo Antivirus feels like stepping into a time capsule where Windows XP just booted up and a popup is aggressively asking you if you want to allow svchost.exe to breathe air.
You’d think a cybersecurity company sitting on piles of threat intelligence data could slap together some modern AI detection, but instead, their strategy appears rooted in a deep, philosophical commitment to medieval combat. Their auto-containment strategy relies on throwing every unknown file, harmless text document, and innocent picture of your cat straight into an airtight digital gulag because it refuses to use subtle AI heuristics when "guilty until proven innocent" is so much more exhausting.
Meanwhile, the interface looks like it was designed in a Winamp skin contest from 2006, where they just add a new year to the title and change the shade of blue while the engine keeps screaming at you about buffer overflows with dialog boxes that require a degree in computer science just to close.
As a cybersecurity company, they swim in telemetry data and have all the special enterprise tools at their disposal, yet their consumer division operates out of a metaphorical shed in the backyard, proudly clinging to stubborn default-deny rules and asking the user forty times a day whether an innocent installer is allowed to exist or should be vaporized. At this rate, quantum computers will be mainstream before Comodo decides that predictive machine learning is finally worth a shot.

Did not visit the forum for some time. I see Comodo released a new version. Did I miss any bug fixes or new features? Or is it just the same old famous "cosmetic update" Comodo story?
Detailed in the first post of this topic. Some usability fixes and rebranding HIPS to EDR. There appear to be some under the hood fixes as well which improved containment protection but that information wasn't publicised.

I've read the first post in this topic but with all due respect there is no mentioning of any bug fixes or new features and there is no changelog or whatsoever. Even the updater function still doesn't seem to work which was also not working in previous release(s).
Changing HIPS naming to EDR is just a cosmetic update like they did with the UI in the previous release(s).
This release isn't any better than the previous one (or the ones before that).
It is yet again only a cosmetic update and nothing more than that.
About hidden or not published fixes, why hide them from the public?
Comodo write those fixes in a changelog so people can read about it then we believe you!
Yes, on the surface, seems to be just a renaming of HIPS to EDR to be in line with their Xcitiuim products though @cruelsister has tested it recently indicating the containment protection level has improved. Comodo Firewall and Virtualized Browsers It does update smoothly and still runs well on my machine. Hopefully with the naming conventions being the same as the updates will become more of a thing. I guess further testing to be considered to find what else was fixed but I haven't the time.
I think we all would love to see some evidence (changelog) showing that some or more bugs from the past have been resolved, isn't it?
It's been always like this with Comodo, mods or staff telling you to just install the new release and than to find out yourself what still hasn't been fixed (and probably never will)...

You'll have to look at the logs for cmd but Explorer block by EDR was explorer trying to access Comodo's files or when you used it to add a file rule etc. Explorer tries to access the related Comodo file. The block is self protection feature. You'll get loads for task manager when you open it for the same reason. Even iTunes will get blocked but in these cases, it's only blocking the access to the Protected Files:
