Is Kaspersky good at Detecting Rootkits? Is it as good at detecting them vs other types of malware? Kinda dumb question but I dont think I've seen a rootkit be detected by System Watcher or something, but then again the only ones I've seen are Black Lotus and one that bypassed Kaspersky but got caught by every other AV (It disabled Kaspersky)

Kaspersky has a good reputation for detecting rootkits. While no antivirus is perfect, Kaspersky has advanced features like System Watcher that can help detect and protect against rootkits. It is generally effective in detecting and removing rootkits, but the effectiveness may vary depending on the specific rootkit and its evasiveness. It is always recommended to keep your antivirus software up to date and use additional security measures to stay protected against all types of malware.

Kaspersky has anti-rootkit protection, so yes, it can protect you against that. Although rootkits are not the current trendy threats (there was BlackLotus, but it was quickly blocked by antivirus vendors). Additionally, Kaspersky, along with Symantec/Norton, is one of the most responsive companies to new threats!

Yes, it is, rootkits arent anything special for Kaspersky to have a problem detecting them.

IMO Windows rootkits are dead and so are many kind of malwares families/kinds, nowadays you should look for stealers, thats the threat now.

Not completely true, Avast is faster and way more responsive with new Threads than Norton, Norton is always late.
