As far as i know KSC Free already has all the essential modules. What makes KIS worth to buy?

The free version doesn't have the Application Control module, that's the main thing... And why I switched to Avast free.

Kaspersky has wayyyy better signatures then avast any day of the week. what's not caught by kaspersky's signatures will be caught by system-watcher. I have only seen very select few pieces of ransomware get past it. Nothing is 100% but kaspersky free is very top notch itself.

If system watcher was complete, there wouldn't be a need for the Application Control module. of course non of those stop everything, but I prefer to have both types of protection than only one.

They both have great signatures anyway, and that's not the most important thing for 0-day. It's about how they can prevent new/unknown stuff.

Prefer KIS, I at the end of last year got a deal from Kaspersky @10 seats for 2 years for under £50 UK Pounds. I appreciate costs are different in other parts of the world but for me advantages of KIS over free - Both give decent [protection though, maybe the best?
Doesn’t KSC Free also make it mandatory to participate in KSN and cloud scanning?

KSC by itself offers a good protection (KSN + System Watcher), I use KIS because it's free with my ISP (the owner has a russian name so I guess he managed to get a good deal and because they're also the largest ISP of the country)
You're ISP offers KIS? dammm mine offers norton life lock free.
lol I get McAfee and not even the viral video for how to uninstall it....

my ISP used to give McAfee but looks like nobody actually used those licenses so they switched to Kaspersky
From what I know KSC is a replacement of KAV with a few extras. So if you compare KSC with KIS you can see it lacks the intenet fetaures of KIS like firewall and HIPS

No, You can disable even in Free version, and in EU has an additional setting to disable.
The Password Manager reference is irrelevant. Both Avast and Kaspersky offer Free and Premium-tiered Password Managers. Kaspersky Free Cloud users can use Kaspersky Password Manager, should they wish. However, more to the point third-party solutions are superior and consumer-friendly. No locked-in AV bundles or limitations to saving passwords.

Can't you just use a kav trial license to change settings then come back to the free one every time you need to change settings ?

You should be more informed. Kaspersky's Password Manager limits you to 15 passwords in the free version, Avasts one has no limitations. That's why it's relevant and why I specifically wrote "unlimited password manager".
Another advantage of the Avast Password manager is that it's built inside the Antivirus, with Kaspersky you have to download and install a separate program that will be running on your system.

It's pointless to compare the password manager of each AV when there are 3rd party alternatives that are way better in each aspect.
