I have noticed that NextDNS blocks thousands of those in Windows by blocking .arpa TLD.
Is it needed for anything except some email apps? Does it improve or decrease security?

Reverse DNS lookup is primarily used for logging IP addresses in a more human-readable format and for email servers to verify the sender's domain. Blocking .arpa TLD might not directly affect your security, but it could potentially interfere with certain network services and diagnostics. It's a trade-off between potential privacy benefits and potential functionality issues.
