Hello Guys .
I being used Terabox Cloud service for a few months ago , its offer a free space storage more than any cloud services.
I got 1024GB permanently free storage after some steps.
The question: is Terabox safe ?
What is the difference between it and other cloud services like Google Drive about Privacy?

I wouldn't trust free storage. If anything is free you are what money is being made off of.

I have been using TeraBox for two years and I can say that I have not encountered any data security or integrity issues. I was having some doubts about using TeraBox due to some negative reviews online. But I was looking for a large space cloud storage and TeraBox seemed to be the answer due to its 1TB of free storage, so I gave it a try. Then I continued to use it for two years. Recently, I also happened to see a video on youtube about whether terabox is safe or not. This video says TeraBox uses a multi-factor authentication system. It makes me feel at ease using it.

I hate them with passion. For start, they are a Chinese company so don't expect any privacy at all. Their download speeds are extremely low and for larger files they require their app for downloading. They also use million domains for the same service like some kind of torrent site. Free plan is constantly becoming more and more limited.

I'd avoid Terabox at all costs.

That's a great question about Terabox. When it comes to cloud services, especially ones offering huge free storage like Terabox, it's crucial to consider privacy and security. Google Drive, for instance, is known for its robust security measures and integration with Google's ecosystem, but it might come with different privacy considerations compared to a newer service like Terabox. To determine if Terabox is safe, look into its encryption methods, data handling policies, and user reviews for any concerns about data security. Checking its privacy policy and terms of service can also give insights into how it handles your data compared to established services like Google Drive. Ultimately, it's about balancing the convenience of large storage with your comfort level regarding privacy and security practices.

Many people generally worry about two issues before using TeraBox: data security and privacy protection. One concern is data security. TeraBox has currently moved its database to Japan, which is the most secure country for data in the world. Another concern is privacy protection. When TeraBox APP is launched on Google Store and APP Store, it will face layers of review. That is to say, at least from the perspective of the Google Store and APP Store, TeraBox is trustworthy.

Google cannot even keep untrustworthy apps out of it's OWN store, how am I supposed to rely on it telling me something else is trustworthy? I wouldn't trust Google as far as I could spit.

Not That I think Terabox is untrustworthy , I have a free account there and use it frequently and have not had any issues, then again , I don't upload important or sensitive data to ANY cloud storage service.

If it is not end-to-end encrypted, you don't have to trust it.

There are privacy concerns, which are discussed in this video.

So, if any of you need some free online storage, TeraBox will give you 1TB FREE. The only downfall, is you can't integrate it with Windows, so anything you upload has to be done via the website. Not a big deal for small files, but large files take a while. Just thought I would throw this out there in case someone is looking for a bunch of free space. (And apparently they don't have any TOS or anything like that, so if you have 10 email addresses, then you have 10TB worth of storage)

Is there a file size limit? That is usually the limitation with "unlimited" storage services aside from a low upload/download speed.

P.S. Paid version has 20-128GB file size limit, so apparently so (4GB) and they limit the number of files 20, that is 80G max not 1024GB? Still the paid option looks interesting.

I've just tested it... there's a lot to say!
Personally, I wouldn't recommend it at all...

I created an account, downloaded the software and tested it.

I wanted to upload a 46GB file to see if the servers would hold... complete failure, you have to pay.
(While I'm trying, TeraBox offers me a standard speed or I have to pay).

I'm trying with a 1GB file that sends quite quickly (between 9 and 11Mb/s which is between 80 and 100Mbps, far from my upload speed).

While sending, I decide to see if TeraBox encrypts the transfer. The answer is clear: NO

I was able to read the IPs used by TeraBox without any problem. One in China (not surprising, TeraBox is Chinese) and another at a London-based Cloud hosting provider.
I wouldn't recommend it... Just looking at the terms of use didn't give me much confidence :D (and giving away 1TB for free when you have to pay for maintenance, servers, connections etc... takes money).
