I hope the active and current free accounts will still be honored by Kaspersky until their expiry dates. Let's wait and see.
Actually I do not care much; I have turned it off few days ago and replaced it with AVG free.
Current active subscriptions should work but I am concerned about the renewal. It's looking bleak.
On the plus side, I will finally have something to update in my Security config.

Sober since the first of June.
I did try using an installer from an active Free account which already got max users. It prompt me to register again. Now I got another 1 year using a different email. Just for buffer purposes.
Peeps,try to register again with a different email and who knows this loophole might end soon as the installers are not available in Kaspersky site.

I have never hidden my views about K... I like it, it is in fact my favorite.
I just want the GOV to get out of my way, and allow its use... Ridiculous accusation.

Detection wise, I got no complains with Kaspersky.....it's top notch
I just found out that Avast Free is lighter (I used Novabench to test) than Kaspersky, standard or free.
On CPU only; on RAM, K free use less to some extent.
Kaspersky has faster app launches (after 1st run) than Avast/AVG. Idc about RAM/CPU usage and benchmarks. Browsing is slower though compared to pretty much all other AVs.
and Avast/AVG full scan is much faster than that of K.
With real-time protection turned on, there is no need to run a full scan. Apart from running it initially to make system faster, in which case I don't think few more minutes would matter.
Also, you can't compare the full scans between two different AVs as they both have different criteria of what is full scan. Some scan inside archives, some skip external drives, some skip only very big files etc.

True; I find the number of scanned files at the end of the full scan by K is double or triple that reported by Avast-AVG.

Definitely it is going to end; I created a new account on my Kaspersky today; there was not option to get the free version like my older accounts.

It's probably dependent on hardware configuration, software installed, etc. For my PC (Win 11 Pro on i5):
Novabench - Total/CPU/GPU/Memory/Storage
Kaspersky Free - 3212/1897/769/252/294
Avast Free - 3317/1996/772/258/291
Kaspersky Free will be removed from the market.
Will miss K
