I beg to differ as it doesn't just use a blocklist
I never trust the description from the developers. They usually find excuses and fancy words to describe their products but in reality, it's not effective enough compared to some other simple approaches
I tested this extension myself and I viewed its source in github
this is the filter minerblock uses:

so it still uses filter, no difference from ublock, even ublock has a much much longer list of blocked miners

according to my analysis of this extension and the test from Prorootect, this extension missed some miners while ublock origin with my suggested filters blocked everything
Block Browser Coin Miners

trust me, they all use blocklist. Nobody, afaik, can block miner without a blocklist
the thing matters is who has the longer list. In fact, ublock origin with default filter + easyprivacy should be enough

I think you haven't looked much into MinerBlock's source code. Does other blockers include a signature detection feature ?

indeed I don't look too much into the source code
I simply did some tests to verify the effectiveness of each extension because they look very similar

in the test, all extensions failed to block 2 lesser-known miners at that time (nablabee.com and losital.ru). everyone already blocked coinhive and jscoin so I didn't want to include them in the test and in fact, everyone blocked them

instead of using an extra extension, I simply use ublock origin and add 3 more filters, in total contain 6000+ lines of rule including generic rules:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hoshsadiq/adblock-nocoin-list/master/nocoin.txt
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroDot1/CoinBlockerLists/master/list.txt
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroDot1/CoinBlockerLists/master/list_optional.txt

also, EasyPrivacy, a the default filter in most adblockers, could block almost all miners I threw at it

now, miners are no longer as common as before so there is no need for any extension

I'll see how minerBlock gets on. With the extensions, FF Quantum has seen no slowdowns in webpages speeds. Isn't too bad with over 15 extensions on xD

I don't get laughed at. They all serve a purpose and help my setup. I suffer no downtime, everything runs smoothly, I suffer no web page loading loss. All perfect and working. I see no use to uninstalling anything, unless I find minerBlock redundant. :p

There's no single extension or just a handful of extensions to handle some of the web issues in my post earlier in this thread on page 2

No offense intended! I have 6 in FF myself. I just like to see my search bar. I was laughing at myself as much as anything. In fact I had a riot today when my wife said she had to use Internet Explorer for work! I had to allow it through my setup for once only use. I think your setup is great for you, as it should be.

Don't worry about the offense, none was taken; plus you're entitled to an opinion. I'm no snowflake I can handle the criticism buddy :p. IE for work is a bad idea wow... Thank you buddy, it's why I place a customised opinion on most setup comments I make, everyone has a different approach to security and their setups.

Opera uses Chrome extensions. You can see some examples for Chrome extensions I'm using on page 2

Removed from system:
- adwcleaner: conflicts too much when Windows Update services being disabled (I do not want to upgrade to 1803, other updates are going through manually when I get notified)

Removed from FF Quantum:
- VTZilla (extension): no longer uploading files due to conflict with MBAM or Norton Web Safe (maybe) sad to see it go.

@HarborFront is there any way on Opera whoer.net can stop seeing my real Timezone when on a VPN?

I'm not using Opera.

ScriptSafe and Cydec Platform Anti-Fingerprinting have timezone spoofing/obfuscation feature.

When you use your VPN the zone and local time are changed when you select a different country. Your system time is not changed.

There are extensions to change/spoof timezone in FF/Chrome. You can try those and see

You can read here

How to deal with time zone difference while using VPN?

Changing timezone can wreck havoc on your PC

If I change my computers date / time, what could be affected?
