There are two search engines worth talking about.

Google if you want the results you're most likely looking for. Advanced algorithms, personalized results, tons of data and research.

DuckDuckGo if you want privacy. SSL + All SSL Links. No referrer information. Fast enough, half-decent results. Has its own TOR Hidden Service.

True, well since DuckDuckGo has integrated with Google, Yahoo and Bing from searches beside on their own search engine thus its a worth of all.

But to admit Google does not let me down from important searches especially for school purpose.

There's one that I don't think that anyone has mentioned which is Dogpile Web Search, Mum used to use it, but now her default is Google. It uses Google, Bing and Yahoo's search criteria.

I'd try privacy engines but accuracy is important for me so I can't really decide.

I use HTTPS DDG as my default and I often have to move to Google for better results. But it will give me what I need sometimes.

And their is a very good reason why Google has better results , as a clear example I can give you this site... When we post a removal guide, Google will show it in their search results in less then 2 minutes while Bing will need at least 30 minutes.
We are using the default settings for Google and Bing and after 1 year , I can safely say that when it comes to crawling pages, Google is superior to Bing.

Well the bottomline as they have both contribute to save for environment however its effect may varies.

The reason that blackie uses black is to have a change from standard white websites.

I use Google and sometimes bing.

Fun Fact:
If anyone didn't know, Blekko was created by Rich Skrenta who is known to have created the Elk Cloner virus which is considered the first computer virus "in the wild" for Apple II computers, He said it was just a High Prank put on a game disk in 1982.

I always use only google

OK., it's YOUR choice.
But consider this voice - maybe the advertising for this new search engine, but the reality is here:

Why I fired Google: on searal.wordpress.com : http://searal.wordpress.com/2013/09/27/why-i-fired-google/

Google Hummingbird failure: by Harry on harrypisces.kinja.com : http://harrypisces.kinja.com/google-hummingbird-failure-1441101578?rev=1380894570

So for you, if you wish: SEARAL.com Parallel search engine: http://www.searal.com/

Compare too with DuckDuckGo, Privatelee etc other than Google choices.

Then post your impressions after your tests, please ..

PS.
SUCURI report about searal.com: http://sitecheck.sucuri.net/results/www.searal.com/
URLVoid report about searal.com : http://www.urlvoid.com/scan/searal.com/

- so it's OK., safe, this new search engine.

But it works badly on my Windows XP .. hmm

Well, Google is a way too big to be ignored, but after seeing so many alternatives you have provided, I will give them a try, just to second my searches with the "basic Google". If I will be satisfied with them, I will send Google to nr 2.:)
Have a nice day!
