List of Best Search Engines on the Web I found - and use daily!

Yes, independent from Google's algorithm recent changes. No search engine like Google with its 'right thinking' sites prioritizing at the forefront of results. Without Google+ biased social results (read: spam). - And no malwares like on Google, and no ads like on .. You see?

The very bests (I think) are at the top:

* Lukol : http://www.lukol.com/ - anonymous search, Google custom search via proxy, so no IP, no cookies, image search too.

* Gibiru : http://gibiru.com/ - uncensored anonymous search , no IP, no cookies.
Gibiru - Anonymous HTTPS - 128-bit encryption: https://anonymous-gibiru.com/ - more anonymity.

* 1Scroll: http://1scroll.com/ (with WOT implemented on ALL results) * Privatelee (with WOT implemented on the first 10 results only): https://privatelee.com/ * Qrobe: http://qrobe.it/ (with WOT implemented on the first 15 results only)
* Ahdle: http://ahdle.com/ (Family Friendly, but with WOT problems recently ..)

* DuckDuckGo (with WOT here): https://duckduckgo.com/?kf=fw&kh=1&k1=-1 - don't track or bubble you!

* Bing: http://www.bing.com/ - with shot of the day on the search page, results like ancient Google: relevants only. No ads, no social spam, no malware.
Bing (English) : http://www.bing.com/?scope=web&mkt=en-us&scope=web - English edition only on MT here. Bingo! ---> works NO MORE now. The Bing language detection is done based on IP .. sadly!

* Ixquick: https://eu.ixquick.com/eng/ - HTTPS, privacy, security. * StartingPage: https://www.startingpage.com/
* StartPage: https://startpage.com/eng/

* Dogpile: http://www.dogpile.com/ - Together: Google, Yahoo!, Bing.

* SearchCanvas: http://www.searchcanvas.com/?lang=en - with forest skin: http://www.searchcanvas.com/?sid=44&lang=en

* Info.com: http://info.com/ - Relevant, Useful results, pulls together the best of Google, Yahoo! and Bing.

* DISCONNECT Search Webpage version : https://search.disconnect.me/ - you're able to change the search engine among: Google, Bing, Yahoo, DDG. Private search by VPN. 'We don’t log searches, IP addresses, or any other personal info.'

* Infospace: http://www.infospace.com/ - results from Google, Yahoo! together.

* ZOO: http://www.zoo.com/ - Google, Yahoo! together.

* Devilfinder: http://www.devilfinder.com/ - Very relevant results, 99 on the page, Cache, Images full size, Similar buttons.

* Lycos: http://www.lycos.com/ - no thumbnails for now.

* Ecosia: http://ecosia.org/ - the green search, powered by Google results, very FAST.

* Yippy: http://yippy.com/ - with New window and Preview (which presents 'living' link!) buttons. Clusty: http://clusty.com/

* SurfCanyon: http://www.surfcanyon.com/ - Bing images.

* Exalead search : http://www.exalead.com/search/ - with thumbnails.

* FAROO Peer-to-peer Web Search: http://www.faroo.com/#q=&s=1&l=en&src=web - full privacy, no spam.

* Zeekly.com : https://zeekly.com/ - it works now! (after some trouble time ..). safe and secure, 2048-bit SSL encryption.

* Google custom by elfinder.org here : http://elfinder.org/files/demo/MIME-types/google.html - Get classic 3D logo design page, nice!
Google homepage with old logo design :
http://malwaretips.com/threads/google-homepage-with-old-logo-design.19412/
The Flat Logos SUCKS! Google, Microsoft .. : http://malwaretips.com/threads/the-flat-logos-sucks-google-microsoft.18560/

* Google Logo Maker : on searchmyway.com : http://www.searchmyway.com/make-your-own-google/ - but no Translate button .. and is powered by Google Custom Search, so no 'cached' button.
And then Google page:
http://myog.searchmyway.com/?name=Google

"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

'Works no more' section:

* Google Cache Browser 3.0 (Google cache browser proxy page - on cache.nevkontakte.com) : http://cache.nevkontakte.com/#!
It would inject himself into cached page, catch all click on links and redirect you to cached versions of page they point to.
Read here: http://nevkontakte.com/2014/google-cache-browser-3-0-late-announcement.html
- it's interesting project, but works no more ..
Google Cache Browser 3.0 (Web-based) : http://malwaretips.com/threads/google-cache-browser-3-0-web-based.23069/

* Blekko : http://blekko.com/ - Dead, works no more, sadly.

* RedZ :
http://redz.com/home.html - works no more.

* Scroogle scraper does NOT exist - http://scroogle.org/ is for sale ..

""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

With thumbnails - screenshot previews (look on thumbnail before click on unknown link, if no thumbnail - this link could be suspicious):

* Exalead search : http://www.exalead.com/search/
..

- and look on these topics:

Website URL screenshot thumbnail service : http://malwaretips.com/Thread-Website-URL-screenshot-thumbnail-service

Google has disabled Instant Preview on Google Search : http://malwaretips.com/Thread-Google-has-disabled-Instant-Preview-on-Google-Search

Bing offers malware site alerts : http://malwaretips.com/Thread-Bing-offers-malware-site-alerts

- pity Google. So Instant Preview - come back, please.

""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

- Google's search engine is more secure recently, Google Images search is MUCH more secure too ..

Most likely people who don't have a clue how to change Bing from being the default search engine within IE. If you look at reports, Bing is actually rising in terms of use, Or so they say.

@ McLovin,

You did: 'Bing who even uses that, I will stick to Google and always will. Thanks.'
- OK., You are free to do everything in your house, what you want .. Even something wrong, if you want.

@ MrXidus,

You let us know: 'No need for me to mention which search engine I use.' So look to my response to McLovin, please ..

Then takes a look at these two reads:

* Real-Life Examples Of How Google’s “Search Plus” Pushes Google+ Over Relevancy: by Danny Sullivan on searchengineland.com: http://searchengineland.com/examples-google-search-plus-drive-facebook-twitter-crazy-107554

* Google Just Made Bing the Best Search Engine - according Gizmodo.com: http://gizmodo.com/5875571/google-just-made-bing-the-best-search-engine

Quote:
'I just switched the default search engine in my browser from Google to Bing. And if you care about working efficiently, or getting the right results when you search, then maybe you should too.'
'Over at SearchEngineland, Danny Sullivan has compiled a series of damning examples of the ways Google's new interface promotes Plus over relevancy. Long story short: It's a huge step backwards.'
'For years, Google Search has been the highest quality web product I've ever used. It has remained consistently essential as an information-delivery mechanism. I typically hit it hundreds of times a day—on my phone, tablet, laptop and desktop. But with one update it wiped out all those years of loyalty and goodwill it had built up.'

..and this good link in French (sorry, English translation it's not very good for your too long reading): How Google broke Google (= Comment Google a cassé Google): on slate.fr: http://www.slate.fr/story/48793/google-casse-recherche

Before: Google 'delivered', it was 'relevant' ..
Today: you have Google's malware, ads, and Google+spam results all the embellishment..

You do what you want, guys.

Your googles shot:D:

All down to personal preference and opinion. Been using Google ever since I first started surfing the net, Will most likely use it until the day I die. Update:

Sept 2014, This turned out to be false.

I think its like to be a standard search engine for anyone, expected it from browsers by users used. (Google)

And even its having an issue due to the malwares/viruses that detected in Google Search perhaps most of the users would not stop using it.

Like 90% of the world I'm using Google Search.......The list is good but there are no real chances for any search engine to get a decent market share in the future.. Google is just to powerful........

Scroogle scraper - http://scroogle.org/

@HeffeD,

'its 'father' --> Google, because all results are Google results only.

Scroogle is not very grateful for it, Google will give him room and board. This does not please me now.

Scroogle is not grateful to Google. Google provide the search results, but Scroogle laugh of Google - on its drawings, photos and in the articles.

Sorry for my English.

I never heard about DuckDuckGo, it is not bad, but Google is like IE the root of the internet.
I tried different search engines but none of them brings the stuff I want.

Well, I have three 'BING' tabs in my browser (IE8). I made my first tab Bing homepage (and the following two tabs too) because I love their pretty pictures.

Bing has four different image version pages every day I find.
So I've Bing France, Bing US, Bing Australia, and Bing United Kingdom.

Look on the today's shots of my three Bing tabs (cropped for 1065x1000 pixels):

Bing France:
Ogbp2.jpg

Bing US:
B4wz8.jpg

Bing Australia:
wYaK4.jpg

* Then I found very nice site: istartedsomething.com - BING IMAGE ARCHIVE - browse all the amazing US and United Kingdom backgrounds from Bing: http://www.istartedsomething.com/bingimages/ - very cool! - so homepage of Long Zheng blog here: http://www.istartedsomething.com/

- Thank you Long Zheng. - but could I ask you to consider adding also the background images from France and Australia, please? .. Thank you in advance! [added February 1, 2012]

Consider also these links:

* Bing homepage images team - best job in the company? : on Blogs.technet.com: http://blogs.technet.com/b/next/arc...eam-_2d00_-best-job-in-the-company_3f00_.aspx

* Get more bang for your Bing: on Microsoft.com: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/organization/bing.aspx

.
ADDED in the first topic's Post:

* Ecosia: http://ecosia.org/ - the green search, powered by Bing results, with Image preview (= thumbs) - look on settings! Very fast search engine.

'Ecosia is an eco-friendly search engine. It donates at least 80% of its search revenue to a rainforest protection program run by the WWF. Therefore Ecosia users can help to save rainforest for free with every search they do!'

I'm also fan of a metasearch engine before, however I forgot the name itself as used last 4-5 years ago.

The search engine site looks like a "Bee" logo and used 3 major search engine sites: Yahoo, Google and MSN (now Bing).

( I'm not sure if that site looks same as I said )
