I can understand trying this out on Firefox but it's not 100% in Chrome/Chromium yet or is this page out of date? :

That page is up-to-date as far as i am aware. It still does the same things that you want it to do, but sadly it it doesn't support the JavaScript API webRequest.filterResponseData to make the HTML filter work. So if a page doesn't work due to html needed to be filtered out, you need to disable the extension as a whole for that particular website. The same goes for the font replacements feature.

Aside from those things, it does the job. Though the chrome extension upload is done by someone else and takes forever to update, if not sometimes just skipping versions.

No, it's not. The crucial point is the underlying differences between Chromium and FF browsers, with the latter enabling more of LocalCDN's features. I believe it handles more CDNs & frameworks than Decentraleyes on Chromium so it's worth using IMO.

One thing to note however is that the maintainer of LocalCDN uses both open-source and free frameworks in the extension's library. Paid cdn services or cdn services with both paid and free variants that go through the same url or .JS injections might be hard to filter out and he wont add them to the extension's library. Think of all the CDN's from Akamai and Amazon's cloudfront for example.

@oldschool do you know why they decided to fork DecentralEyes in this project? I noticed that the chrome version is listed as Unnoficial... so i guess it's not as good as the Firefox version.

LocalCDN is a fork of Decentaleyes. The developer publishes it on Firefox Addons but does not use Google/Chrome so someone else publishes it on Chrome Web Store. It is the same version on both stores. Chromium code doesn't support a couple of features that FF does, as explained here:
2. Can I use this extension in my Chrome Browser?
Yes, it's possible. For publishing you need a Google Account. I don't have one and don't want one 😉 But Emanuel Bennici takes the source code and publish LocalCDN in the Chrome Web Store.

There are some restrictions for Chrome and Chromium based browsers. While both browsers support the WebExtensionsAPI, there are still differences. Chromium unfortunately doesn't support all the cool features of LocalCDN.
LocalCDN Wiki

I believe LocalCDN serves more resources than Decentraleyes and use it for this reason on Chromium. As I said above, it is able to make use of a couple more features than on Chromium.

Thorin-Oakenpants @ arkenfox/user.js believes neither extension is useful if you use Firefox FPI (First Party Isolation) and he says:
Decentraleyes is practically abandonware with little to no impact and outdated resources

I didn't know that about decentraleyes. I was using only on firefox, so i'll stop. Ty
