Solved Malicious Website Blocked from Malwarebytes: C:/Windows/SysWOW64/dllhost.exe

Hello,

I ran a Malwarebytes scan just today and have been getting very frequent pop-ups about malicious websites being blocked. The process is always C:/Windows/SysWOW64/dllhost.exe
I have been a victim of the about:blank on my Internet Explorer and after running hijack.exe and malwarebytes, it has not changed to about:blank from my homepage Google.

I am very nervous for my computer! Please help! Thanks in advance. I have attached m FRST.txt from the FRST scan. and the additional text for FRST.

Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit to your desktop.

• Double-click the icon to start the tool.
• It will ask you where to extract it, then it will start.
• Warning! Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit needs to be run from an account with administrator rights.
• Click in the introduction screen "next" to continue.
• Click in the following screen "Update" to obtain the latest malware definitions.
• Once the update is complete select "Next" and click "Scan".
• When the scan is finished and no malware has been found select "Exit".
• If malware was detected, make sure to check all the items and click "Cleanup". Reboot your computer.
• Open the MBAR folder and paste the content of the following files in your next reply:
  • "mbar-log-{date} (xx-xx-xx).txt"
  • "system-log.txt"

Please re-run Farbar Recovery Scan Tool to give me a fresh look at your system.

• Right-click on
  
  icon and select
  
  Run as Administrator to start the tool.
  (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
• Make sure that Addition option is checked.
• Press Scan button and wait.
• The tool will produce two logfiles on your desktop: FRST.txt and Addition.txt.

Thanks for your reply. Attached is my FRST text scans. What area should I select to extract for the anti-rookit? Should I do the first option (desktop?) Or should I choose another option to extract?

I went ahead and used the anti-rookit with the first option. After I updated it, I pressed the "scan" button, but it said that "this version of malawarebytes anti-rookit requires you to completely exit the Malawrebytes Anti-Malware application to continue." I don't have the malwarebytes anit-malware open, but it is constanly popping up the malicious website blocked that is popping up every second. I feel unsafe about stopping Malwarebytes Anti-Malware if it constantly blocking a malicious website.

Fix with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

This fix was created for this user for use on that particular machine.

Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

• Right-click on
  
  icon and select
  
  Run as Administrator to start the tool.
  (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
• Press the Fix button just once and wait.
• If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
• When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Yes! Malwarebytes Anti-Malware no longer pops up any malicious websites blocked and my Internet explorer no longer changes to about:blank. Is there anything else I need to do? Should I check anything else that the virus might have damaged? Thank you so much for your help! You are a lifesaver!

Download DelFix by Xplode and save it to your desktop.

• Run the tool by right click on the
  
  icon and Run as administrator option.
• Make sure that these ones are checked:
  • Remove disinfection tools
  • Purge system restore
  • Reset system settings
• Push Run and wait until the tool completes his work.
• All tools we used should be gone. Tool will create an report for you (C:\DelFix.txt)

The tool will also record healthy state of registry and make a backup using ERUNT program in %windir%\ERUNT\DelFix
Tool deletes old system restore points and create a fresh system restore point after cleaning.
