McAfee Cloud AV - Have you tried it?

I looked through the forum, but I can't find if McAfee Cloud Free AV is out of beta now? I would like to try it, but I also don't know if it's worth it, even if it is no longer beta. Thanks .

Installed it, it uses ~10-15 MB ram.

Big downside, you can't add to exception if something is detected, files are detected on access (that's really bad because of the security risk).

For sure McAfee Cloud AV integrates Artemis Technology which included in other editions as well.

An aggressive behavior/heuristic detection that can determine the early detection basis while signatures are not yet arrive.

That says a lot because Crystal Security is much lighter then McAfee and thats impressive solution without even being an Antivirus.

Would you suggest using an AV and CS both in real time?

McAfee NextGen AV - Nothing that mentions Beta software, and good news that McAfee WebAdvisor is optional, you can opt-out. Installed into C:\Program Files\ on Windows 64-bit.

When I tried it, it turned out to be a system resource hog with a large install. Plus, the features are quite limited.

I say it's intentional to limit available features, just as Bitdefender Free Antivirus vs Bitdefender Total Security.

My only issue is the UI size is tiny.

I do not know the quality of the malware, but so far so good.

I lightly tried McAfee Free under VM and upon executing samples from MH, all 7 were quarantined. Unfortunately you can't scan on-demand, so I didn't post the results for 05-10-2016 #7.
