These UWP apps are fully contained. So any error is likely inside the app… you may need to reinstall the app. I think Edge WebView is under components…

I already restored an image from a backup, and it took less than two minutes, and now I'm back. I don't know what happened, but there are some things that aren't worth wasting time on. I don't have much to back up, so restoring an image from a backup is super fast.

Anyone Using McAfee on a Gaming PC? Need Some Insight

I’ve got a McAfee license but haven’t installed it yet—still deciding if I should. I’ve been using Windows Defender for the past year since I mostly game on my PC. It’s been okay, but I’m looking for something that gives me more control and is possibly lighter on system resources during gameplay.

if you don't use cracked games , it's actually the best antimalware for gaming even ahead of eset and Kaspersky .we are now evaluating mcafee for installing on home systems of our employees with the eset licenses going to expire soon, we are going mcafee/Kaspersky hybrid approach . they are really improving the home series with each update, and the best thing about new series of their app is near zero bloatware, the basic protection does have firewall enhancer and the antivirus nothing more , it even does not advertise to upgrade, the ui is simple , and it actually at best settings by default for home use and no setting is available for the user except some simple ones, in our evaluation even a happy clicker would be ok with home version of mcafee. superlight and effective.

I have stated "not malicious"; McAfee blocked it as malicious (as posted by Trident)!

I noticed that the add-on display in my Firefox browser was blinking frantically. Restarting the browser didn't help. I then opened the add-on management page in the browser, and there, too, all the add-ons were blinking wildly. I then deleted one add-on after another. When I removed McAfee WebAdvisor, the blinking stopped immediately. When I re-enabled WebAdvisor, it started blinking again. I deactivated WebAdvisor again because the blinking makes me nervous. What could be causing it?

I've since resolved the issue and uninstalled McAfee. Then I dug into my treasure trove of licenses and installed Trend Micro.

same thing that is messing up my relationship with WebAdvisor / firefox. sorry I am clueless re this at this point of frustration.

Looking at my Firefox, it don't seem to be blinking? Unless: ... its blinking at exactly the same time as I am blinking then I wont notice it, this is highly improbable though?

For me, this error only occurred on one of my three PCs. It occurred suddenly and for no apparent reason.

I had to use Macrium Reflect to restore a system backup that had never been used by McAfee. Then the VPN program worked again. I suspect there are still remnants of McAfee left in the network control panel.

Revo will not find all traces, unless you use its snapshot feature to monitor the installation of the antivirus. It's much better to use the vendor's uninstall tool.

I just used the built-in uninstaller to uninstall McAfee, it removed the major folders (unlike many that leave a ton in Program Files and ProgramData).
McAfee doesn't use the registry too much, settings and all is mainly saved in encrypted JSON files.

I reinstalled it back though.
