Hello everyone here at MalwareTips!

Finally the first public version of MHT Web Filter is ready.

Supported Operating Systems: Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10
Requirements: Microsoft .NET Framework 4

Download: http://cybertracker.malwarehunterteam.com/tools/MHTWF.zip

It's portable, so just extract it and run the "MHT Web Filter Launcher". When you run it, the launcher checks if a new version available, if yes, it will be downloaded automatically. Thanks to this, you will always be able to get the latest version of the MHT Web Filter, without any work.

The main feature is blocking malicious C&C servers used by malware. If you block a C&C server, then the malware won't work properly because it won't be able to communicate with it's command and control (C&C) server and send back data to it.
Another feature of WF is blocking advertising and tracking servers. It can't replace browser extensions and Windows programs like Adblock Plus or Adguard because it doesn't have the ability to hide certain elements of a website, but it's a useful addition to your ad blocker.

The databases are stored on our servers and each domain is checked there. If you want to use MHT Web Filter, please make sure you set the "Preferred DNS server" to 127.0.0.1, and "Alternate DNS server" to 127.0.0.2 (or anything other which is not a working IP address) on your system so the program can filter the traffic.
If you don't know how to do it, please see this tutorial from Microsoft: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/change-tcp-ip-settings
There are some malware types which can connect directly to a DNS server (so bypassing the system settings), so if you have a router/modem which supports blocking traffic by port, then block outbound traffic on port 53.

We will implement new features in the next versions, to make it even more useful.

If you need help, or just want to ask a question, please go to this thread: http://malwaretips.com/threads/mht-web-filter-general-help-and-questions.48027/

You can report ad/tracker domains which should be blocked by our WF in this thread: http://malwaretips.com/threads/mht-web-filter-lets-collect-ad-tracker-servers-to-block.46693/

Thanks for reading. :)
