Serious Discussion Microsoft Edge Stable (Chromium) Now Available for Download

If Edge didn't has so much garbage on it I would use it & not Brave - Edge has been missing in action now for 7 months :):):)
Agree; all Edge nees is to clone chromium as it is, with adding only the very essential features needed for comfortable day use; no wonder its market share is very small compared to Chrome inspite of being preinstalled on Windows.

As I've said before Edge was almost perfect on release, & a chart was made by MS of the many things it removed compared to Chrome, they have since added much more which is a pity - All personal choice though as always...

It's been more than a month since "Send tab to your devices" has stopped showing my other device. Same on both PC and Android. Everything syncs fine between both devices but for some reason, this send feature thinks no device is connected. Saw some other users reporting this on reddit also.
I don't need it every day, but I use it often. Mostly I send tabs from my phone to the PC. It's getting annoying that it's taking them long to fix this issue.

The feature update in question is cross-platform policy support in the Edge management service, which allows IT admins to configure the browser's policies on other platforms on top of existing Windows configurations:
Cross-platform policies in the Edge management service. Admins can now configure policies for Edge for Business across macOS, iOS, and Android devices on top of their existing Windows configurations in the Edge management service.

This issue has been fixed. It was not related to the last update as it was fixed before the update became available.

Microsoft fixed a macOS CPU hogging bug on Edge
This week, Microsoft has released Edge Stable version 144.0.3719.115, fixing a macOS bug that led to a 100% CPU usage bug where one core would get fully saturated during normal browsing. While the update is primarily a bug-fix release, it is a very significant one for Mac users who had reported overheating and degraded performance as a result of the bug.

The issue had been raised on community forums, where users described Edge consuming excessive resources and triggering fans even under light workloads as a result of the consequent overheating. The bug was first highlighted by a user, WCR, on the official Microsoft support forum, who noted that on their M4-based 16-inch MacBook, they saw high CPU usage. This query was upvoted by 23 other people (at the time of writing) seeking answers to a similar question, indicating the problem was fairly widespread. Users on Reddit also discussed the problem on a separate thread.

Interestingly, this bug was already caught early on in the testing cycle two months ago by Redditor Pale-Profile1570, but unfortunately, Redmond had failed to mend it, and it got pushed out to the stable channel.

On the changelog for Edge Version 144.0.3719.115, Microsoft writes: "Fixed a macOS issue that caused Microsoft Edge to fully saturate one CPU core under certain conditions."

😭 The only policy I have added for 145 was WebAppInstallByUserEnabled, I do not understand, why it does not work then? 😓 It took ages to download via TOR. 😩

The download is slow for me from that site, even in Edge. But that's something to do with my ISP. The download was fast when I enabled Cloudflare WARP.
