It's not because I haven't been logged out in Brave.

I am confused why it's happening on my end. In the Reddit post I linked above there are users who have been facing this issue for longer.
The issue has been fixed after disabling the DBSC flag. @Sunqfu made me aware of the flag. He enabled it manually, which caused the issue in his case.
But in my case, it was in the default state. I never touched it but maybe internally it was set to Enabled on my Edge.
AFAIK, Brave is the only Chromium browser that actually shows you whether a flag is enabled/disabled in its default state. Would've been nice if that became the default in all Chromium browsers.

Edge keeps freezing since yesterday, it's so annoying. I was hoping update today would fix it, but it didn't.
Have faced suttuer of both Edge and Brave a couple of weeks ago.
Tried disabling hardware acceleration in settings, but did not help.
After disabling Ghostery, it was fixed.
