The only way Hamas can unlock locked iPhones is with torture or shoulder surfing/CCTV. They don't have the technical capabilities.

Almost certainly can’t unlock a locked-down iPhone. The possible unlockables would probably require tools from commercial spyware companies anyway. Those companies say their wares are sold on a restricted basis.

GrapheneOS Support Is Coming to Motorola Flagships in 2027

GrapheneOS has revealed that the first Motorola smartphones with official support for the open-source, security- and privacy-focused Android-based operating system are expected to arrive in 2027.

The news provides the first concrete timeframe since Motorola and GrapheneOS announced their partnership earlier this year. The companies confirmed they would work together on improving mobile security and making future Motorola hardware compatible with GrapheneOS, but no specific devices or launch window were given.

Now, GrapheneOS has shared a few more details. Responding to a user on Mastodon, the project said that the initial supported devices “should be available in 2027,” adding that the first models will be flagships.

That means they are not expected to be inexpensive. According to GrapheneOS, the initial Motorola devices will feature higher-end hardware than Google’s Pixel phones and will come at a higher price.

The decision to begin with flagship devices is largely tied to GrapheneOS’s strict hardware security requirements. The project says the latest flagship Snapdragon platforms currently provide Qualcomm’s best security features, while lower-end hardware still falls short in several areas.

This really hyped me. I always liked Motorola phones, simply for being solid and straight to the point, no bs. Now, with GrapheneOS and the required hardware security, it's suddenly much more attractive than ever. I only ask to Motorola they make some good high-end devices. By this I mean not only a powerful performance, but outstanding cameras and good implementation of AI (Gemini, probably) like we see in the top brands.

LOL OK. You do realize all software, security patches, firmware updates are developed most likely by Chinese developers? Let alone update servers, where are they?

No corporation is beyond influence by their owners or masters including Motorola. Collusion is unlikely, but there are deniable backdoors and shadow events that play out.

You don't think they would let 'others' have a peak at the source code?

To do business in China, corporations need to hand out the Source Code for complaince on regulatory requirement. It's mandated for national security.

This is the reason some Antivirus don't do business in China using their Global Brand even thou the market is big.

We have a partial port of GrapheneOS to the Pixel 11 series after a week of work on it. We're unable to complete the port due to lack of support for ARM hardware memory tagging in software, firmware and near certainly hardware. It appears Google cut an important security feature to save money.

Looks like Google may have cut a feature from Pixel 11 that GrapheneOS deems essential:

But they haven't said they will drop this completely yet.

We haven't determined what to do about this situation. It may be best for us to skip the Pixel 11 series devices. We can shift our focus entirely to the upcoming Motorola devices instead. Pixel 10a was really a 9th gen Pixel, so hopefully the Pixel 11a does the same with 10th gen and includes MTE.

So, it’s either Motorola or bust. It’s so surreal that a “free” product capable of being a thorn in the side of commercial spyware companies (and governments) could end up in this situation.

If GrapheneOS has to choose between Pixels and Motorola, I'm voting for Motorola. Pixels have midrange CPU sold at premium price and terrible battery life. The only thing they really stand out are camera and AI; nothing else. They also aren't available worldwide.
Motorola is completely opposite and you can get them at any price range, anywhere in the world.

Using GrapheneOS is not "must" for me as I prefer battery life. But if they upgrade batteries to the level Xiaomi offers, I'll gladly switch. My father only uses Motorola phone and won't touch anything else. They proved to be durable for him and every model he used so far lasted him 5+ years. The only thing con is they aren't popular so there's limited number of accessories you can buy for them.

So yeah, the most important thing for me is the battery life so I'm currently limited to Xiaomi devices.

So, it’s either Motorola or bust.

There's no certainty about the future of GOS on Pixels generally, other than this announcement from developers. And Google is generally very silent regarding technical changes that aren't user facing.

Unfortunately, the first Motorola phones with hardware support for GOS will be top-tier models only. Many users don't want or need high end models whether frrom Google, Motorola or anyone else.

I'm not with you on that mate. What Google's Pixels offer is widespread adoption and availability. Motorola is fine but they are not as good as Pixels.

Plus the camera as you noted, that is probably the Pixels best selling point. Now whether GOS users need a camera or use one is probably not a issue.

I'll stick with a 10a on GOS, sad the 11a will be crap. Always question when a company remove security features in the name of efficiency and cost cutting.

Also Google would know GOS uses those security controls, wouldn't surprise me if they did this to try and kill GOS on Pixels. Always question motives.

Maybe in the US, Pixel phones do not have widespread adoption and availability in the rest of the world. This is exactly where Motorola shines. Might not be as popular phone brand like Samsung or Xiaomi, but you can literally buy it in every country.
