Just a tips :
When you want to close thunderbird, for properly closed-it, you must open the menu and select quit or Ctrl+Maj+Q, if you clic on the cross, you don't close it properly (example if you have set "empty trash on exit" it will not work all your trash mail are still there when opening again, concern some others settings too).
I have made a script then convert to exe with AutoHotKey and a invisible icon. i put it on the taskbar (invisible), so with just one clic you close thunderbird properly).
Note that : for working you must have the GUI open (if you have set "when thunderbird reduced, move to systray") otherwise it will not work.
