Try this Privacy Eraser: 1-click browsing history deletion, PC optimization & more
Even the free will impress you, 99% accessable, paid only unlocks the Security lvl for deletion (passes)
I only use this now, even Kerish is out the door on my Windows sys. Stay Frosty
PS: it even auto cleans the browser at close for you, like CC does.
Was that SW formerly called Tracks Eraser pro?
CCleaner is for registry cleaning after uninstall some apps. I'm worried that new update might break it.

Registry cleaners are snake oil. They cause more harm than good. I don't use registry cleaner feature or tick registry option in Wise Disk Cleaner and Privacy Eraser. I haven't used CCleaner registry cleaner at all.

No matter how accurate CCleaner registry cleaner feature is, I will not recommend to use it because it is not perfect. There will be a flaw somewhere and there. Even us humans are not perfect, so let alone software and things we created.

Thanks. Its time to stick with 5.33 version.
I'm with you on using an older (safer) version of CCleaner after the new owners were proved not to be trusted in the same way that Piriform were.

I've played around with a few older versions recently, nothing too scientific, but found that different versions in the v5.30-5.36 range produced varying results with the same settings. v5.36 missed lots of browser temporary files that other versions cleaned up. I'm wondering if CCleaner wasn't as good as many of us thought for some time. I'm currently using v5.30 alongside occasional sweeps with Bleachbit and Wise Care 365, they all clean some data that the others miss.

Wise Care can be hacked, Privazer can be hacked, Bleachbit can be hacked, and so on, and so on, and so on. No different than CCleaner. Sorry. That's just how it is.

Who owned CCleaner at the time of the embed is irrelevant because Avast just held the title to the company. The systems that Piriform had in-place were the ones compromised. So the people at Piriform are wholly to blame, if you're looking to blame the parties responsible on the defense side. Avast certainly didn't have anything to do with it. It just merely purchased the CCleaner product and Piriform company. Buying Piriform didn't magically open up security holes. Those holes existed prior to Avast's arrival on the scene.
