Question NextDNS setups

Please provide comments and solutions that are helpful to the author of this topic.
It is up to you to decide what to use, but to nuance your post: It has no categories, but offers parental control (but only for explicit content) and fine grained control over services

Many services block explicit content, but some are better than others, some much better. Cloudflare is almost pathetic now, Cleanbrowsing is not as good as it is used to be.

True, though NextDNS blocks almost the same, but in one category, like Steam is in Online Gaming, so instead of blocking per service, it blocks all and you have to allow it.

Yes, AdGuardDNS offers only explicit content and control over a few services. I find NextDNS better than AdGuardDNS for parental control. NextDNS has category blocking, but it allows some sites from the blocked categories. Currently, I'm trying the Cloudflare Gateway Free Plan, which I find superior overall.

Cloudflare is better than CleanBrowsing, AdGuard, and ControlD at blocking adult sites. Do you mean Cloudflare's malware blocking?

NextDNS Manager on android tried to force it, several people complained and thankfully dev added the option to switch.
NextDNS however did not. Now it's just darkmode without an option to switch back to white mode. Now people will complain that its too dark

Ping results do not always point to the best performance. Sometimes these third party services are faster in pings, but they direct you to sub-optimal CDNs. Depending on your ISP you may get the best routing through their network by using their DNS. And sometimes a third party with slower pings will perform better.
