Re: [TicketNr#2021031048000301] ShutUp 10 "Disable telemetry" toggles off?

Hello,
several values are monitored by O&O ShutUp10.

The first regkey is "AllowTelemetry" in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\DataCollection

Please make also sure that the "Connected User Experiences and Telemetry" "DiagTrack" service disabled.

Aditionally O&O ShutUp10 checks these two keys:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\dmwappushservice
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WMI\AutoLogger\AutoLogger-Diagtrack-Listener

dmwappushservice disable - Google Search

Please note that unfortunately O&O ShutUp 10 cannot prevent that the Windows OS itself changes the Windows configuration.

So if I understand it correctly there is nothing we can do against it?
FWIW ~ reply to my followup with O&O Support .... that my "Connected User Experiences and Telemetry" "DiagTrack" service is disabled.

As described, this is not the only key.
Aditionally O&O ShutUp10 checks these two keys:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\dmwappushservice
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WMI\AutoLogger\AutoLogger-Diagtrack-Listener

Curious, Changelog does not mention new "Disable telemetry" behavior.

Maybe, users are supposed to edit reg keys to achieve "Disable telemetry = On?
IDK ~ over-my-skill-set
Thanks

It is possible that we need to do that, but like you I have no idea how to do that at the moment

O&O ShutUp 10 cannot prevent that the Windows OS itself changes the Windows configuration.

Your screenshot is showing that dmwappushservice is set to manual start. Maybe you want to disable it.

Post #25 in this thread offers a workaround..But personally I think it's too much fiddling to get it to work:

Hello,
for clarification:

If the telemetry toggle gets reseted from green to red after some time, you can consider this as expected behavior.
Because O&O ShutUp 10 doesn't prevent that Windows OS itself changes the Windows configuration back.

Right click on this key and DISABLE INHERITANCE. The REMOVE RIGHTS from EVERY OTHER ENTITY EXCEPT YOUR USER NAME. Then change your rights for this key to READ ONLY. I am not going to detail this here. You can look up the details for yourself. "

I right click HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\dmwappushservice and i no see disable inheritance

You need to look under permissions when you right click on that service...
