On Linux, we’ve resolved an issue that caused broken .deb installations, ensuring smoother setup for Debian-based distributions. And if you’ve been exploring Sonic theme, the theme preview is now fully functional again.

We’re happy to announce the release of Opera 125, now promoted to our stable channel.
What’s new:
Updated Chromium: Chromium engine has been updated to version: 141.0.7390.125.
Stability improvements: We fixed several crashes related to tab handling, split screen, popup windows, Easy Files, the sidebar, themes, and more.
Settings & UI fixes: Missing section in settings, broken links in the installer, styling issues in popups, and several macOS and Linux specific issues have all been resolved.
Split screen enhancements: Numerous issues causing incorrect layouts or crashes when working with split-screen tabs have been addressed.
General quality updates: From more consistent theme handling to resolving autoupdate problems.

A new Opera Stable update is here – version 126.0.5750.37
This release fixes two important crashes, bringing improved overall stability. On macOS, Tab Island tooltips now behave correctly, and Pinboard folders properly use the Tab Island name. We’ve also resolved issues in the Settings → Languages section and fixed the Bookmarks folder icon problem.

Key highlights
We’ve resolved multiple crashes affecting areas such as:
browser settings and profile handling,
split screen usage (including private windows and multi-tab layouts),
onboarding flows when importing tabs from other browsers,
Picture-in-Picture and sidebar miniplayer interactions.
Tab Islands and tab management improvements:
tab island names are now shown in more places, including context menus and the Opera menu (on Windows and Linux),
visual issues such as missing transparency and disappearing controls have been resolved.
Enhanced Split Screen improvements (available in Early Bird)
incorrect layouts when duplicating or detaching split screens,
blank or empty panes in certain configurations,
problems with fullscreen mode hiding split screen layouts,
crashes related to split screen creation and tab island interactions,
improved menu wording and clearer exit options.
Known issues:
We’re aware of the following issues in this release and are already working on fixes:
Free VPN: In Opera 127 Stable, the Free VPN badge may not be displayed in the address bar. The VPN itself works correctly and can still be enabled and managed via Settings.
Videoconferencing: Some regressions affect videoconferencing tabs when they are detached, which may impact expected behavior during calls.
Enhanced Split Screen (availablein Early Bird): Pages don’t always adjust correctly to the split screen layout when navigating through links.
