New Update Opera Stable Update Thread

Dear Opera Users!

Today we’re introducing Opera 130 on the stable channel.

What’s new?​

Chromium update:​

  • Opera 130 is based on the Chromium version: 146.0.7680.178

Stability and crash fixes:​

  • This release includes a number of fixes targeting crashes reported in previous builds, regarding:
    • Tab interactions and hover previews
    • UI rendering and view conversions

User interface improvements:​

  • Improved settings design and descriptions
  • Fixes for Easy Setup UI, including layout gaps and visual inconsistencies
  • Better positioning of the download popup in Split Screen mode
  • Fixes for tab island controls, including the “+” button behavior
  • Corrections to miniplayer text layout
  • Improved visibility of the cursor in History search (dark mode)
  • Fixes for extension notification popup visuals

Sidebar and integrations:​

  • Updated messenger landing page URL
  • Early Bird users can now access:
    • Threads in the sidebar
    • Twitch in the sidebar

Dear Opera Users!

Opera has released a new initial update, version: 131.0.5877.5

Browser is now based on Chromium 147.0.7727.56.

Many of the changes in this release ranging from crash fixes and UI refinements to improvements in features like Picture-in-Picture, sidebar behavior, and tab handling, were previously introduced and tested in the Developer channel. With this update, they have now made their way into the stable release.

New Ad Blocker (available in Early Bird): A new Ad Blocker implementation is now available in Early Bird, offering improved performance and expanded blocking capabilities.

Known issue: the “Clear data on exit” feature is currently hidden in this version. We’re aware of it and actively working on bringing it back in an upcoming update.

  • Vertical Tabs are now available in Early Bird, bringing a new way to organize and manage tabs directly from the sidebar.
  • Enabled the Volume Booster in the sidebar.
  • Improved the “Clear data on exit” flow with easier access from the Delete Browsing Data dialog and additional UI refinements.
  • Fixed multiple stability and UI issues across Windows, Linux, and macOS, including toolbar behavior, tab strip visibility, and light/dark mode inconsistencies.

Opera 131.0.5877.74 is here, bringing a round of bug fixes:

  • Split screen: Fixed crash on double-clicking the address bar, unclickable split screens on macOS, missing right-click context menus and broken tab dragging into islands.
  • Vertical tabs (available in Early Bird) got several fixes: fixed issues with visual glitches with sidebar autohide, disappearing tab panels, or the address bar incorrectly spanning full width on Mac. The duplicated tab marker has also been removed.
  • Clear Data on Exit now matches the intended design and no longer lets synced data be wiped on exit.
  • Volume Booster no longer jumps to 98% on a single click.

Known issue:

  • We’re aware of a bug affecting the split screen address bar. If you expand a domain chip by double-clicking it, press ESC to close, and then drag the chip to reorder, the domain chips disappear entirely. A full browser restart is required to bring them back. We’re working on a fix.
