New Update Osprey Browser Protection discussion and updates

For how long this debate continues? Everyone involved said enough, please stop all from now, otherwise this thread might be locked temporary for a few days...
In fact, what sparked all these heated debates, not only in this thread but in others as well, was our friend and member here at MT @Fan-of-spyshelter. I have been observing his behaviour for some time now. He always pops up in some thread accusing a member or a developer, usually causing discontent among members and pitting them against each other, always with allegations that make no sense. There was another topic about OmniDefender in this post here accusing @OsirisXD of being pure SCAMMER, which is very bad and not cool for the forum. I apologise for my sincere words, but for me he crossed the line, and if it were up to me, I would have already banned him from MT. (y)

100% agree

I am not sure what’s going on here on this thread…? Why is everyone focused on the Control D usage? Control D has owners and terms of service. If the service is misused, it is not MalwareTips’ job to enforce the correct usage of the service.

I am not sure why there is circular discussion about whether or not the usage of Control D is allowed.

Also, powerful nonsense from time to time “explodes” under the form of posts from @Fan-of-spyshelter .

He allowed himself to attack the developer way more than just calling them scammers. He commented that the developer “just uses ChatGPT”. Well let @Fan-of-spyshelter also use ChatGPT and develop antivirus software.

That’s just one of the user’s multitude of highly questionable posts.

There were posts where the user claimed OS-es spy on citizens through the usage of Microkernels.

@piquiteco, just…

If you're unaware of how MalwareTips was originally founded back in 2010, ask the admin privately.
Or check their Cloudflare domain info here:

You might learn something useful.

And please, If you're just here to make noise and throw shade without any evidence that could actually condemn me, that’s your choice.

But tell me, as for consequences :

What exactly are you observing?
Are you even properly informed about security practices?

Some of my posts in this very thread were moderated and approved by the real staff here.
And they know: in cybersecurity, we don’t play favorites. We don't bend for bias.

So if my posts stayed up, it’s because I was right.
Had I been wrong, I would’ve been banned immediately, but I don’t throw accusations without solid proof.

Know that in security, we don’t act with emotion, we act with evidence.
Security is money. It’s boundaries. It’s the right to say NO.
There is no room for compassion when it comes to protecting users and systems.

Since external links became tolerated across many forums, the risk of malware has exploded.
So yes, people like me do what we do — to keep you safe.
Without us, you wouldn’t trust your credentials to any digital device.

Example:

Why do you think that even Mozilla does not officially endorse a well-known extension like Malwarebytes?

“This add-on is not actively monitored for security by Mozilla. Make sure you trust it before installing.”

No one wants to take responsibility.
But if we want this digital world to work like a true community for everyone, we need rules — and trust can only be built through accountability, not vague claims or good intentions.

If you want to be properly informed, take this one here under from the accusation i made on OsirisXD.

And if you're wondering why version 1.3.5 of the extension was pushed out so quickly after 1.3.4
(check GitHub: Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency) OR look deeper into my audit. Don’t just skim it — read it thoroughly. You’ll understand.

Lastly, I’ve never claimed to be a developer, i’ve been transparent from the beginning:
I'm a security auditor working with international organizations across various sectors, including human and ethical domains.
Also, i have never pretend i could do more than anyone in term of programing, i bring my expertise where it counts: in compliance, risk assessment, and strategic auditing.
i will not reply to this thread anymore.

1.3.5 was pushed so quickly after 1.3.4 because I develop Osprey every day. You'll regularly find updates pushed within 3-4 days of each other.

Throwing shade with no evidence is all you do on this forum. Glad you're no longer replying. I'll hold you to that.

What does it matter to me if MT was founded in 2010? You're bold, aren't you? I'm not going to waste my time arguing with you. If A + B and B + C.
And please, If you're just here to make noise and throw shade without any evidence that could actually condemn me, that’s your choice.
I'm not here to make noise much less criticize you. I just think you lacked a little respect for the members and the devs, and this isn't the first time you've done this, and you know it very well. I'm not condemning you, I'm just asking for a little respect for everyone here. Why don't you come and discuss the Osprey Browser Protection extension here? Come with a civilized conversation, don't just shoot from the hip.
But tell me, as for consequences :
The consequences come from your actions; they will reveal who you truly are.
So if my posts stayed up, it’s because I was right.
For now...
Had I been wrong,
You're wrong, and you still think you're right?
I would’ve been banned immediately,
I'm not the one who decides that, I just know that your future here at MT depends on you and your actions, and I'm sure of that. Keep it up and you'll find out one day. I think you should read the Forum Rules if you haven't already.
but I don’t throw accusations without solid proof.
The issue here is not whether you make accusations or not, it is that you make many allegations that are unrelated and without any basis. To me, she has no credibility; she just ends up polluting the topics with a bunch of posts full of nonsense that make no sense and are out of context.

BTW, I don't use Chat GPT. I'm typing in real time, I don't need a bot or AI to complement my posts.

It's actually freeing to use the Ignore feature on this forum. I don't have to ever read another one of his posts.

The warning from me yesterday became ignored so that is the consequence: Osprey thread will be locked for 3 days.

And for everyone, it doesn't matter who is wrong or not, the whole debate won't ending soon because the last word... must be said again by person A, B, C ...

When I was trying to get from Edge addon store, it have got this error:
Screenshot_8-8-2025_171548_microsoftedge.microsoft.com.jpeg

Do you think someone, who shall remain nameless, reported the extension?

I just updated it to the latest version without any issues.
Me too; months ago I installed from both Edge and Chrome store without issue.
After installing McAfee web advisor, I found it is redundant to keep both, so uninsalled Opsrey.
Then tried to reinstall to test it for detecting a potentially malicious website recently reported by MT member; the Chrome version installed finely, that of Edge did not, with this message.

I had one more issue, when I select to proceed to a blocked website by Norton safeweb component, several pages do not load properly with many missed parts; when using Norton safeweb extension and choose to proceed, it loads as usual.
