Serious Discussion Pegasun Has a New Version out. I really like this Utility, and he has it on sale for 19.95 and 39.00 for lifetime license

Do you own a potato 🥔? Ever since Sandy_Bridge and SATA SSD you shouldn't need such programs. I'd argue you should spend your money on DD but we know prices are ridiculous. I just don't see the need for such apps unless you run a potato 🥔
No, but as I said, it did make a very noticeable improvement in speed. I've got 32GB of RAM and an NVMe SSD. But it is eight years since I've done a clean install of Windows.

All you need to do is turn off animation and disable services. Animation like sliding menus. It's in Settings somewhere ( I am not on Windows now, so I can't tell you where) And then turn off any service that hints of talking to a server ( because you don't have that server ) Read the service description. And then look for services that says 'Remote', you don't want those either. And turn off useless networking things like SSDP, TCP NetBIOS Helper and IPSec ( ipsec encryption needs setup on both ends before it works) . And you can turn off Server and Workstation as well. There are lots more useless things, just read the service description on the left. If you are unsure about an item, just set it to Manual Start and Stop it and write it down and test out Settings, see anything goes wrong. Then if all is ok, and they haven't started again because you triggered them to, change those Manual Start items to Disabled.

I don't pay for stupid utilities that does things that I can do myself.

Disable Windows Animations

Best Speed Boost
Turning off fade/slide animations makes menus and windows feel instantly responsive.

  • Uncheck Animate controls and elements inside windows
  • Uncheck Fade or slide menus into view
  • Uncheck Fade or slide ToolTips into view
  • Uncheck Fade out menu items after clicking
  • (Optional) Select Adjust for best performance to disable all visual effects

Open Performance Options

This is where Windows hides animation and visual effect controls.

Press Win + R → type sysdm.cpl → go to Advanced → Performance → Settings
  • This opens the Performance Options window
  • Switch to the Visual Effects tab
  • You’ll see all animation-related toggles

Just incase your not familiar with these 2 built in Windows programs: In your search bar Type Defragment and Optimize Drives
and then after using there's Type in search bar Disk Cleanup you can pin both to Taskbar for easy access ,you can schedule Defragment and Optimize Drives just hit the change settings box. gl
