Advice Request Protection for Linux

Hello friends,As I have enough of Microsoft policies so I am planning to switch over to Linux(Ubuntu).I have used Linux before as dual boot just to know what is this all about but this time it is going to be my only os.
My first line of defence is accepting that I can be attacked just opposite to the thinking of typical Linux user that he is bullet proof.Therefore I need your valuable suggest for security keeping in the mind I am concerned about security for financial transactions.
I am open to all suggestions,bashing,beating or software free or paid.
Sorry if I am clear enough since my mind is busy cursing the Microsoft

Only Apparmor ; no AV is worth the shot on Linux.

In the past I have used Bitdefender for Linux , and also ClamAV .

The only thing that ever got flagged was Wine ....

also the Firewall is off by default i think on Ubuntu.

yes last time i used Kubuntu , FW was off and i needed an app (forget the name)

Yes , that's it , and this is an easy check :-

sudo ufw status

Once it's set up it should auto-run on boot , by default .

Honestly just configure your Firewall and follow the advice for apparmor.

So far the threats for Linux is not yet in alarming stage, actually very few in the wild list.

But you can use AV as a scanner to remove Windows based threats.

I see apparmour is installed in default ububtu install. would that include kubuntu?

Kubuntu = Ubuntu + different desktop

I take that as a yes then. my sisters still gets fake ransomware alerts but that is because it has firefox and I was not able to get chromium to install. I did install I think it was ublock today as an add on.

Chrome on Linux is stronger than on Windows; it should be the main browser. (the second part of this comment is a bit biased because i have no love to FF )

i read on Wilders that Firejail use the same technique as Chrome's sandbox. Do you know if that's true? If so should I use appammor only?

very long time i didn't use Linux, but what i know is that Chrome always uses the OS mechanism , so u guess it may be true, anyway Firejail will allso isolate other apps so worth to use it and Apparmor by itself is very strong too. Both are "must-have" apps.

hey bro if you every bored of ubuntu or its too buggy or need change try elementary os beautiful, light, and run every ubuntu software because is based onn ubuntu.

I can run chrome on sisters. it is 32 bit and they only have 64 now. that is why I wanted to do chromium. jut not sure how.
