New Update Proton VPN for Windows

I had clicked on about -- I don't see button to check for updates. & IIRC in the past just opening the app would trigger an update. But I see @Jonny Quest has the same version as me. oh well.
And when I had updated to the next build from where were at, it wouldn't connect to a server. I started the notebook, restarted it, uninstalled it, reinstalled it, still wouldn't connect and went back to 4.1.10 which works. I was waiting for this newer build that was posted today, and maybe I'll give that one a try (uninstalling this version).

Nuts. I'm on the newest version now, I installed over top instead of waiting for the update, I thought clicking on "about" triggered an update check in the previous version, maybe my Alzheimer's is kicking in again.:p

more likely me than you...

@simmerskool I was able to get 4.1.12 up and running. I uninstalled our previous version, did a restart and deleted the one empty Proton VPN folder in App Data/ Local (I didn't do a Everything search). I cleaned out the temp and %temp% files, deleted the Recycle bin files, than maybe unnecessary (and not recommended?), but I ran the installer as Admin. Finished the set up routine, and it looks good :)

Installed over the top. No problems, installation was slow but eventually installed, though I have security software such as WDAC & H_C which is probably to blame for the slowness.
for my clarification, did this update start automatically and install over the top of the previous, or did you download the update and install it over the top? I just opened Proton VPN again and the About still says Current version 4.1.10 -- there's no mention of a newer version. now is 01 May 0630 utc.

Although some may like the new UI, frankly As I already know what Europe looks like & the counties in it, all it now does is use more room with dumbing down & although Proton feel its easier to use: For me, it was better before they felt the need to change things (bugger about with it) - However I feel it is, however still the best VPN I have used in speed & reliability with few Captchas needed, so its on 99% of the time (should you feel a VPN is necessary or even a plus point)

Edit: 4.1.13 installed fine thanks :)

Does anyone else constantly get logged out of ProtonVPN? Every other time I restart my system ProtonVPN refuses to auto-connect because my "session has expired." I'm not sure what that's about, but I have to login again every time. Nothing's really changed, so I'm not sure why this is happening.
not sure as I never automatically login to Proton or any other vpn -- they do not autostart either. I always open the app when I want to use it, then connect... (fwiw)
