Advice Request Router changes the DHCP DNS settings by itself.

My current router is setup the following way:

• I have a ZTE router provided for free by the ISP
• I am renting a TPlink AX1500 router from the ISP
• The TPlink and ZTE is connected together with WAN
  
  
• In Internet DNS settings I have it set to NextDNS's IP
• In DHCP DNS settings I have it set to the router's IP (10.0.0.1)

The internet settings always stays the same, but the DHCP settings keep changing by itself to a different address. This happens when the device restarts (every Monday 4AM) or when I apply new settings to the Internet settings.

The two IP addresses are: 193.110.57.4 193.110.56.8

These addresses seems to be connected to my ISP.

Could this be because I am renting a router from the ISP and it is configured that it resets to the ISP's IP?

I recently reconfigured my setup to add a LAN server. The setup guide strongly advised to use LAN, WiFi and WAN in that order because of the unreliability of WAN(their words, not mine).

Do have options other than WAN to try?

It's possible that the DHCP DNS settings are being changed by the ISP's router. Some ISP routers have been known to override the DHCP settings of connected routers, especially if they are rented from the ISP.

To confirm this, you can try disconnecting the ZTE router from the network and see if the DHCP settings are still changing. If they are not, then it's likely that the ZTE router is the culprit.

You could also try contacting your ISP to see if they have any information on why the DHCP settings are being changed. They may be able to provide a solution, or at least confirm whether or not their router is causing the issue.

In the meantime, you could try setting a static IP address on your devices instead of relying on DHCP. This way, you can manually set the DNS server to NextDNS and ensure it doesn't get changed by the router.
