Question Sandboxie worth paying for ?

Please provide comments and solutions that are helpful to the author of this topic.
No, its getting over-complicated and expensive . The average Joe would have no idea how to use it now.

No disrespect to the current developer, he's doing a real good job, but he keeps adding options that are making it harder and harder to use. Its used to be simple, not anymore.

I was a regular happy user of sbie ages ago, but left it after R Tzur left. But now trying sbie+, used for a day or 2 and "how-to(s)" started coming back to me. I bought a personal license. Exchanged a couple emails with DavidX -- he replies quickly. I'm seeing ways to use sbie+ and also Cyberlock's new Windows Sandbox feature. Different tech powers each, so interesting...:geek:

See @danb posts in Voodooshield 7.0 thread n/k/a Cyberlock thread in December IIRC starting with version 7.65 and currently 7.68. It has 3 features or ways to use Windows Sandbox mostly by opening Edge in Windows Sandbox. (I'm always afraid if I go to the post to get its URL that this pending message will vanish -- it's happened to me before...)

I agree that it is becoming over-complicated (if it ain't broke, don't fix it) but despite that, I vote yes, worth paying for.

my conundrum about sandboxie-plus: I bought a one-year personal certificate Jan_2024 so it is coming up for "renewal." I generally like "donating" for productive software. Last year a personal license was 40 Euros. So ok, sbie+ works good for me, I'll renew, but now a personal license is 60 Euros and adding a 20% VAT (12 Euros) but I'm feeling like I do not get 72 Euros of value from it. & if I'm in US why am I paying VAT, and is VAT really 20% -- instead of valued user, now I'm unhappy non-renewing non-user. Gee, VMware Workstation is now free.

I went ahead and bought the perpetual license. I only get upgrades for a year, but the license is mine to keep. For me, that's a better deal because it seems SBIE is running out of useful things to implement.

Yes I think it`s worth paying for to help with development etc.

The free version does all that I need but I`ve just taken out a years subscription as a thanks for the superb browser protection it`s given me over the years.

Anyone new to it might want to check out the threads here and at wilders to get a handle on how people use it.

Regards Eck :)

I often pay for development, that's why I bought a sbie+ Personal Certificate last January, but not sure I want to fund him yearly (he probably has more money than me at this point)(& I have other stuff I want to buy)
