Open the Emsisoft interface and click "Update now" at the bottom-right of the interface.

Signatures are essentially 'fingerprints' of malware that have been discovered, which get added to a database owned by the antivirus vendor(s). Antiviruses periodically download newly created signatures to allow detection of newly classified malware. If they're outdated, it means Emsisoft may not detect malware that it would have if its signatures were up-to-date.

Hello,

The virus signature database is not up to date, that's why Emsisoft tells you that.
Antivirus editors maintain a signature database to allow their software to fight efficiently against malwares known by the editor, which is Emsisoft in your case.

I strongly recommend that you update it. Go to the Emsisoft interface (double click on its icon on your desktop, or click on its icon at the bottom of the screen next to the time) and click on "Update".
The download and installation is quite fast.
Also check in the settings if the updates are in Automatic and not in Manual to guarantee a top level of protection.

If Emsisoft has detected that its signatures are outdated, it means that the software needs to be updated with the latest virus and malware definitions. This is necessary to ensure that the software is able to detect and remove the latest threats on your computer.

To update Emsisoft, you can follow these steps:

1. Open the Emsisoft software on your computer.
2. Click on the "Update" button.
3. Wait for the update process to complete.
4. Once the update is complete, Emsisoft should be able to detect and remove any threats present on your computer.

It is important to keep your security software up to date at all times in order to have the best possible protection against malware and other threats.
