In what ways will you use SBIE, Shadow Defender and Norton on your system?

What's the difference between SD and SBIE?

Norton: For Real Time protection and scanning/removing threat if any.
Sandboxie: For browsing protection (that is why I stick with free as Norton have no option of sandboxing browser like avast, kaspersky or webroot)
Shadow Defender:On it while running malware(for malware testing purpose)

Hope I have clear your doubts

RE: Stranger Desktop Security Setup

is norton reputation viable? most say about the FP, updates and scan speed being rather long.

Norton is light The main plus point
FP= I have not face any such issue
Updates=This is pain, sometimes slow and this is the only av I remember ask to restart your pc for updates taking effect.:@
Scan Speed:Not bad compare to many other its comparatives.

RE: Stranger Desktop Security Setup

Removed:Norton Internet Security Reason : Slow browsing compare to
Kaspersky Pure.Url Filter of Kp is
much better.

Firefox & its add-ons : Happy with chrome.

Sandboxie : Free version needs attentions every time

Added:kaspersky Pure

RE: Stranger Desktop Security Setup

Back to Pure? what was the reason behind it apart from being light in your system?

Detection was Good compare to other av which i tried from last week
Light on my machine.
Very Good url filter of KP
Install and forget policy (its take long time at 1st install update and scan but after that not to worry)

Last but not the least I have license which is remaining for almost a year and its valid for 3 pc and I have shared this license with one friend so its still good for 2 pc and i do not want to waste license of such highley rated software :D

RE: Stranger Desktop Security Setup

I always wondered. the multiple pcs license is based on mac address, machine ID or some other identification?

Stranger: valid reasons and respect ya for that.

Me, myself am testing some along webroot and I might go a bit crazy... we will see

RE: Stranger Desktop Security Setup

Dude, got a little test for ya since im tied up for a bit.

Can you try on VM 2 separate solutions and report back the memory usage and if you experience any slowdown? (on Idle and if possible a small scan of a few files just to see the CPU/memory)

Microsoft Essentials and FortiClient Lite.

I am sure that what I am thinking next might sound crazy but might work.

Hi, Biozfear I have no vm on my machine and i do not have good experience with vm before as I had blue screen of death when i installed it in few days back.
You can see I have dumped Rollback Rx and have to clear install OS with system image to do the above steps and reinstall my current setup again.

I am too lazy for this and decided to have look at Pure for a week and then decide for future setup.

Anyhow I can confirm you that Ram usage in MSE is quite high but you will not feel any slow down and yes its same like Pure(no stable Ram usage)
Fortclient: I have not used in my life and if I remember correctly i have tried it 5 years ago on my xp machine and result was crash( I am not sure it was fortclient but name look me similar )

Hope U don't mind :D

RE: Stranger Desktop Security Setup
