It was famous a decade ago, an excellent anti-spyware, when spyware were relevant, now it is just another obsolete soft that can't keep up with the actual threatscape and just surviving grace to its renown.
Road that MBAM is taking right now.

It is an relic from old days, which refuses to die decently, like MBAM should. A good product gets 2-3 good years and unless it evolves, it fades out, like Spybot, Ewido, Superantispyware. Some manage to hold on by becoming better like AdAware, others struggle to survive like AVG and Avast.

By the way, this says it all, they actually separate anti-virus and anti-spyware.

Do you all recommend I remove this software from my computer? Is there any tests that show this software is insufficient? Also, any thoughts on the immunization feature?

Immunization pro-actively protects your system against malware attacks by blocking access to sites known to contain malicious or unwanted software. It also blocks tracking cookies and browser plugins that are known to contain malware. Immunization supports many popular browsers, including Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox and Chrome.

Years ago, Spybot Search & Destroy was a good tool for the detection and removal of spyware. At that time antivirus software managed in separate way viruses and spyware. Viruses were considered dangerous and so blocked immediately, on the contrary, the spyware were often ignored.
Today antivirus vendors have better understood the danger of adware, spyware and other unwanted software.

Spybot S&D has tried to stay on the wave by offering a paid version that also integrates an antivirus but it hasn't been as successful as hoped.

Does not sound dead to me.

"
Spybot searches your hard disk for all known types of spyware, adware and potentially unwanted programs. It offers powerful features to remove these threats and thus protect your privacy. It automatically detects:

• adware networks, attempts at host redirection,
• registry modifications
• unwanted changes in the browser configuration of Internet Explorer and Firefox.

If an attempt is made to redirect your computer to a different Domain Name Server without your permission Spybot can detect and stop this happening.

Spybot also protects your privacy is by removing ‘Usage Tracks’.

Spybots team of ‘Forensic Detectives’ constantly monitor the Internet for new threats and attack vectors so it is important, that in order for software to give maximum protection, it is regularly updated. The signatures for Spybot Free Edition are updated once a week.

Spybot +AV is a licensed version of Spybot that enhances the protection offered by Spybot Free Edition. This product not only protects against spyware but also incorporates an award winning antivirus engine licensed by Bitdefender."

Wow.

But this may be true..

MBAM used to rock tests.... but has done poorly for several years. And just like so many products before them... when testing goes poorly, the excuses start. And then they withdraw from testing. And then the tests are not relevant for one reason or another... MBAM is on this path.
why has Malwarebytes been so poor at recent tests?
Any news about MBAM participation....

When they start relying on personal testimonials (.."ever since I've used it, I've never been infected..") ... then they have reached bottom. A good example of that can be found here:
Webroot SecureAnywhere Discussion & Update Thread

But this deserves a separate thread/poll.
