is there a way to get the adaptive protection for free on SEP

Probably possible with importing a policy ,or a regedit but not sure didn't test

Maybe asking something like gpt can give you an answer to what registry key you need to change for that to be enabled

They have an English version too you probably installed the wrong one

There was only one linke for the latest version; the rest of links were for earlier versions or for the manager.
The setup files from the French one worked fine.

How do you install the latest version without the Symantec browser protection forced turned on? you use to be able to turn it off you cant even whitelist detected pages anymore.

Looks like Symantec made some changes? The client no longer gets live updates? No more unmanaged client it looks like.

That’s for program updates, but the screenshot clearly shows antivirus definitions, which is a totally different thing.

The software is free as long as you manage the client yourself. If you want it managed for you, a licence is required,

They don't check or require a license ( .self file ) unless it's a managed client btw the have an extension for free for consumers on the Google store and the sep mobile version is free for consumers too
It's the same company that made VMware free to consumers as their market is the Enterprise

It's just the Symantec logo with the black checkmark. I wish they allowed unblocking websites on the unmanaged client. The web protection is stronger than Bitdefender and Malwarebytes Browser Guard combined, but it produces many false positives, and there’s no way to unblock sites once they are blocked.
