I gave Sophos cloud AV a try maybe a year ago, not my cup of tea or coffee come to that but, maybe for some?

Do you still need to register a email to use Sophos? That turns me off completely.

What uncessary freatures have you uncovered, I am courious to know.

I use WinSpyBlocker, it blocks a large quantity of destination ip addresses outgoing, related to telemetry. and misc traffiic, and windows update traffic. Because outgoing traffic sets the state in firewall and allows returning traffic, it could be spoofed attack traffic that uses the state to pass thru the firewall. I could not say if this is used in real attacks, but I believe blocking them is useful to security just like the author.

@Zero Knowledge I did get a trial, but it was very web based which is not my taste, in time I would think most things will be but as i remember the whole thing was somewhat tiresome to use, probably better if you have many units to care for but I don't, the whole experience is not fixed in my mind which in my case probably says lots, there must have been some sort of a recommendation somewhere or its unlikely I would have used it??

HMP is a dead consumer product and has been since Sophos bought the company years ago and incorporated it's technology into other products, same with HMP.Alert besides RonnyT @ Wilders releasing a new beta every 3 months it seems also a dead product. The Lowman brothers are gone or in hiding like Fabian @ Emsisoft. Maybe some people use InterceptX in the enterprise or on mobile but I haven't met anyone who uses Sophos at home or it's rarely talked about on this forum and others.

Im actually using sophos home free and i find it always decent opinion

edit: theres bunch of people on pc security channels discord that uses sophos home. wondering why

One of the very few, are you based in the UK? I can understand why UK business and government use it but home users in the rest of the world I don't see it as very popular.

Finland. I've used kaspersky for longest time and second longest is sophos for sure. Ive paired it with appcheck

Wow Kaspersky user in Finland, you were very brave. Fair enough, not critiquing Sophos users explicitly just what they have done with HMP.

They never made one jot of difference in the 2+ years I used it, I did have Fp's that really was it, some time ago when I put up my setup on here it was a mod who asked has HMP ever done anything, and I thought no, I was still in the AV + a separate malware blocker mindset still as in the days of an AV + the likes of an earlier Mbam for example which how I did things for years... I don't do that now but did.

Wow they have more of a user base than I thought, I'm sure it's enterprise use mainly. Didn't Sophos buy that business router company years ago? SophosXG I think is it's name!

They also have a pretty well reguarded Next Gen Firewall product, I remmber people back 15 years ago were using Sophos Firewall like they did/do with pFsense.
