Since I had the strong impression that @ultim continued to grow its software with absolute confidence and policy, I was honestly surprised to see it go open source.
I gave up using TinyWall because of problems I could not solve with F-Secure, but I like the software very much because it strongly reflects ultim's claims.

Re-posting here for those looking for info on TinyWall.
Isn't Tinywall an abandoned project by its dev?
Not exactly. I'd call it passive support. TW's developer @pylorak (aka @ultim @ MT & Wilders) responds to issues at TW's GitHub page. Apparently he provides small fixes and is open to discussion and feature requests, . You may look at the open & closed issues to check . There is no release info at GitHub, and the download link on the Read.me page redirects users to his own TW webpage, which he still maintains. I think he only has the energy to devote to GitHub but not other forums, and he's less likely to be bombarded with questions, requests, etc. His latest activity is November 2024.
Why recommend users to install it?
That's an open question, based on the above.

Hi anyone using latest tinywall with win11 and having no problems? I am trying it again.
Yes. No problems that I see.
What are the exe or processes allowed(whitelist) from windows?
Everything is blocked after install. Users can whitelist by executable, process or window via the tray icon or the TW controller GUI.

The one thing that isn't possible is whitelisting apps that update via the user's temp directory. Not a big deal for me as Aomei Backupper is the only app I have that updates this way. I just disable TW momentarily to update.

I discovered that Windows 11 widgets can't connect out, even after making exceptions for as many widget processes, etc. that I can think of. Anyone else having this issue, or know which relevant exceptions need to be made? 🤔
Try whitelisting the Windows web experience pack.

I find TinyWall's no annoying popups and user-friendly claims somewhat misleading. It kinda gives the impression of automatic firewall protection. TinyWall is as complex or more than a firewall with popups for average or most users.

I found this, which appears to be a solution to the widgets issue.
What is the basic way to create rules in TinyWall?
If your application is installed as a Windows service or is an app managed by the Windows Store:
  1. Open TinyWall's configuration window, and click the "Add application" button.
  2. Based on your application's type, use the "Choose a service" or "Pick a UWP app" buttons correspondingly.

I have noticed the well-known MajorGeeks informed about a new version of TinyWall 3.4.1 Download TinyWall - MajorGeeks

The original homepage shows the following information:

Version 3.4 released!

New release with various fixes, updates and feature additions.

The installer.msi seems to be valid signed by the original developer, according to VT:

Thanks for the reply .I was thinking of doing that but I see Tinywall 3.3 is here it says and a smaller print of 3.4 is also there ,it gets confusing not sure if the 3.4.1 update is there.
That is odd, because I have the installer from the homepage and it shows here the new version 3.4.1
